Call Of Duty Is Going Back To Its Roots With Call Of Duty: WWII

Call Of Duty: WWII

The next Call Of Duty title has been officially announced and we are going back to the franchise’s roots with Call Of Duty: WWII

Back at the beginning of the year we had a nice little tease on what to expect for the next edition of the Call Of Duty franchise. There was a lot of speculation and thoughts that Sledgehammer Games hid clues in said teaser but it was all guessing and nothing completely solid as of yet. Yet being the key word here as Activision has announced today that we will be getting Call Of Duty: WWII as our next major title in the franchise and that it all will be going back to its roots as it were. I’m guessing just in terms of the era but there could be much more than that I guess.

Outside of the game being titled Call Of Duty: WWII and it obviously being set in the time of the Second World War, there is nothing more to divulge just yet. Thankfully we will be seeing a reveal next week on April 26th where the team will go into things a bit further than just the below image and the time period we will be running and gunning through. To think, we are going to lose all of those fun gadgets and toys that everyone has been perfecting over the last few years. I for one am glad to see that but I’m sure that there are many that are not.

Call Of Duty: WWII — Announcement

Call Of Duty returns to its World War II roots with Call Of Duty: WWII, developed by Sledgehammer Games. More details are incoming during the game’s Worldwide Reveal livestream on Wednesday, April 26th featuring Sledgehammer Games co-studio heads and founders Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield. Fans will be able to tune in to get a first look at Call Of Duty: WWII and get intel on the studio’s vision for the game.

Given that all we have been given for Call Of Duty: WWII so far can be seen above, we’ve tried to dig in and see if there is more to glean from it all. For the most part all I’ve been able to spot that could be anything is that there are multiple people in the reflections in the yes. Four to be exact with three walking/standing and one crouching or kneeling. Again not much but thankfully we only have to wait a few more days until we get a full showing of Call Of Duty: WWII and then see exactly what Sledgehammer Games is bringing into their debut title for the era. I do mean era and not franchise as we all know they’ve done some great work already.

Are you glad to see that Call Of Duty is heading back to the WWI era or did you like the futuristic versions of the game? Do you think that this will be a straight forward kind of game like we normally get or will this be more specialized for a small band of brothers in the mix of it all? Could this mean that the future tech has progressed so far that we have time travel and this isn’t directly set in WWI but some future guys going back to “fix” things? Let us know what you are thinking down in the comments and then discuss. We’ll have all that we can for Call Of Duty: WWII as it is out there. Be sure to stick around to catch it all.
