New horror title, Maid Of Sker, is announced and Maid Of Sker will have us holding our breath as we explore a house based on a real-world haunted house
Just in time for Halloween we have another new horror game to look at now in way of Maid Of Sker. Not that it is releasing in time for this Halloween, as it is currently slated for a Q3 2019 release, but Wales Interactive has placed the official teaser out there to get the ball rolling on this new horror title. A title that will bring horror to pretty much all of the platforms next year as Maid Of Sker is slated to hit the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch as well. Something that seems to be fewer and further between in the current state of the market here.
On top of being announced, Maid Of Sker also comes along with its teaser that you can see below and some extra key bits of information for the game. One of the tidbits being that the game’s location is using a real-world haunted location as a point of reference to tell this branching story. A story that will lead to many different endings based on our actions and choices in Maid Of Sker. Something that should have been a given there but I felt like it needed to be detailed out. So there you go.
At the base surface Maid Of Sker sounds a bit like a walking simulator of sorts in this real location, but it does offer up some stealth mechanics from the sound of it all. That is, Wales Interactive is using a 3D sounds mechanic in the game that we will need to learn and master to hide and sneak past enemies that get harder as the game progresses. At some points, we will need to hold our breath to slip by or let an enemy walk past all while managing how long we can do that. So it sounds like Maid Of Sker may be more of a stealth horror game than a haunted walking simulator.

Based on the haunting true story of Elizabeth Williams, you play as Thomas Evans, a musician who is thrust into a terrifying battle to save the woman he loves. Set in 1898 in and around Sker House, a real dwelling which still stands to this day and is said to be one the most haunted in Britain.
Featuring realistic 4K visuals with gameplay focused on story, exploration and no-weapon survival tactics. Experience a multiple thread narrative where your decisions matter, unlocking different story paths and multiple endings.
A 3D sound based AI system is the core survival gameplay mechanic. Hide, run, creep, trap and distract are some of the techniques you need to master to survive enemies with super hearing. As you progress, enemies become more difficult to avoid, to the point where standing still and holding your breath is the only option!
Time it correctly and you’re safe, for now. Run out of breath and — suffer.
