Psychonauts 2 Has Been Fully Funded & On Its Way

Psychonauts 2 has reached it full funding goal with a few days to go so we can all look forward to Psychonauts 2 to get the full game treatment soon

It is official now that Psychonauts 2 is going to be made as it has reached its 3.3 million dollar fundraising goal with days still to go. This means that no matter what now Double Fine has to make Psychonauts 2. Not only that but they have to make it well as there is more than just their name and profits to worry about as the Fig platform that was used to fund Psychonauts 2 also offer the backers equity in the game. So if it does well the backers get a part of the overall profits. A lot riding on Psychonauts 2 now.

Of course Psychonauts 2 was already somewhat in the works as Tim Schafer did give us all an announcement during the Game Awards last year. Kind of seems odd that they would make an announcement and then turn around and ask for funding even though Psychonauts 2 was already in pre-production but this is how he and the people at Double Fine have been making games as of late. I guess the better bonus is the equity sharing for all of those backers and future backers as there is still four days to go as of this posting.

Personally I hope Psychonauts 2 does insanely well as it has already been stated that its success is what a Brütal Legend 2 is relying on from the developer. There shouldn’t be too much doubt as the Psychonauts franchise has an immense cult following and they have been calling for a Psychonauts 2 for years now but things can and usually do happen. Let’s hop not though. Especially after seeing that Psychonauts 2 has raise way more than needed already and it is still going strong. Good days for all indeed.
