Microsoft Studios has officially announced that Quantum Break will be coming in 2016 now instead of the original release window
It was rumored and “misunderstood” before that Quantum Break was on the delayed list for titles this year. Remedy Games made sure that we were all corrected at the time and led us to believe that Quantum Break was still going to be hitting the Xbox One sometime this year. Most likely late this year. Sadly though it looks like Microsoft Studios is reneging on those statements and has officially put Quantum Break on the 2016 bench now. Looks like the rumors and “misunderstandings” were true after all.
Here is what Microsoft Studios had to say about the “new” delay for Quantum Break:
“With so many Xbox One games launching this year, moving Quantum Break to 2016 extends our incredible portfolio into next year with a monster new IP,” said Shannon Loftis, Head of Publishing at Microsoft Studios.
“We’re really proud to be part of the incredible Xbox One line-up,” said Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy. “We thank our fans for their patience, and want them to know that the team is taking advantage of this opportunity to polish and fine tune the game to create the kind of standout entertainment experience they’ve come to expect from us.”
So Quantum Break is either going to be the worst title ever or it is going to be such a great game that Microsoft thinks that it will dwarf every other title coming out this year. From what I’ve seen thus far I’d put my money on the latter; especially more since Quantum Break is getting “more polish” to help it stand out. It didn’t look like the game had any issue in the demos and videos we’ve seen so far. I could also be hopeful as Quantum Break looks to be my console seller here but I don’t think myself too far off given the developer’s history.

Are you pained by the delay of Quantum Break? Do you think it will be a good thing or a bad thing? Don’t you wish we could alter time so the release date for the game was already here? Of course we do. Tell the world that down in the comments as well as any other thoughts you may have on Quantum Break.
