Wolfenstein: Youngblood Will Be Ready For You & A Friend This July

Wolfenstein: Youngblood

The release date for Wolfenstein: Youngblood is now set down for this July and we will be sharing this Wolfenstein experience with friends if we so choose

The date is set and we will be seeing Wolfenstein: Youngblood out there this coming July. When in July? Well it looks like Machine Games is aiming for a July 26th release for all of this. A nice little Summer release for us to enjoy as we cool off and head to virtual Paris during the 80s in an alternate history where the Nazis control most of the world. We are also on the hunt for the main Wolfenstein protagonist as BJ is missing and it is up to his daughters to go find him. Can this guy not get a break at all? I guess not when the Nazis are still mucking things up…

Now we know the date and a bit of the story behind Wolfenstein: Youngblood, but there is a bit more. As we will be taking on the roles of the Terror Twins, BJ’s daughters, it would make sense that this would be a co-op style of game. You would be right if you opt to pick up the Deluxe Edition of the game as it comes with a Buddy Pass that will allow for any friend to download and play the game with you for free. Not the first time we have seen this happen in gaming, but it will add a fun new twist to the Wolfenstein franchise while giving two players a full screen to do what the family does best.

You can pre-order Wolfenstein: Youngblood as of right now and doing so will score you a few little extras too. Extras in the way of cosmetic changes to things in the game. Things like having WWII skins for your weapons or access to BJs Power suit. Also a few cool things from the more recent Wolfenstein titles mixed in so you can play the game looking a little different than what is originally being placed out there by Bethesda. At least it is all coming with a bit of a reduced cost and you can see most of that below. That and the new story trailer that gives you a little bit more than my words to go on.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood — Story Trailer

BJ Blazkowicz has gone missing in Paris, and it’s up to his twin daughters, Jess and Soph, to track him down.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood drops you into 80s Nazi-occupied Paris, and for the first time in the series, you’ll be able to explore the world of Wolfenstein and wreck Nazis with a partner. Get your first look at the cooperative gameplay in this new trailer and get ready for revolution when Wolfenstein: Youngblood launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 26, 2019.

The City of Lights and Blood

Jess and Soph Blazkowicz will stop at nothing to find their father, and that includes taking on the Nazi forces in Paris, France. Establish your home base deep in the Parisian Catacombs and tackle missions in any order you want. Team up with a friend or play with an AI companion and obliterate the Nazi regime.

Along with the newly added co-op system, Youngblood features some newly added RPG elements. Explore Paris and take on the Nazis to level up and unlock new abilities, weapon attachments, gadgets, cosmetics, and more. You’ll have access to updated and improved New Colossus weapons like the Dieselkraftwerk, Shockhammer (now called the Kugelgewehr), Laserkraftwerk and more, and you’ll also be able to tear through the fascist hordes with a number of new weapons like the iconic Maschinepistole and the devastatingly powerful Elektrokraftwerk.

Buddy Pass

When you pick up the Wolfenstein: Youngblood Deluxe Edition, you’ll get the Buddy Pass, meaning you can partner up with a friend, even if that friend doesn’t own the game. As long as that friend is playing with you, they’ll be able to download and play Youngblood for free, all thanks to the Buddy Pass. The Buddy Pass can only be provided to one friend at a time, but it can be reused as many times as you want. Those playing using a friend’s Buddy Pass can choose to upgrade to the full game and play on their own or with other players at any time.

In addition to the Buddy Pass, the Deluxe Edition also gets you the Cyborg Skin Pack, a cosmetic pack designed to give you that titanium Terminator look. The Cyborg Skin Pack includes a shiny new skin for the twins’ Power Suits, guns, combat knives and hatchets.

Pre-Order Bonuses

Pre-order Wolfenstein: Youngblood (Standard Edition: $29.99, Deluxe Edition: $39.99) and receive the Legacy Pack, a set of cosmetic items that include the following:

  • The Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Jacket Power Suit
  • BJ’s US Army Power Suit
  • The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Pipe
  • The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Knife
  • A WW2 Weapon Skin Set for all ranged weapons

Are you excited for this new chapter into the Wolfenstein universe or do you think we need a little break for now? Does the option to play with a real friend sell you on the increased cost or will you still go with an AI buddy through the game? Do you wish there was more than cosmetic changes coming for the pre-orders or do you like the shift the industry is going with all of this? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. When we have more to share for Wolfenstein: Youngblood, we will share it all here. Just be sure to keep checking in for all of that as we head toward the new release date.
