Mortal Kombat X
In the latest Kombat Kast for Mortal Kombat X we were shown almost all of the characters and their variations
The headline here may seem a bit odd as we do have our first full look at the Mortal Kombat X character select screen with no empty spots anymore. The roster has been fully shown here at least in the terms of core characters but as we all know, NetherRealm is working on DLC and hinted at other characters making a return to Mortal Kombat X as well. Would it be safe to assume that the DLC or other characters will show up as a second menu under Goro similar to Mortal Kombat 9? I mean they have to display them somehow right? So technically the image below of the roster doesn’t show off every character in Mortal Kombat X.
Here, have a look at what was shown for Mortal Kombat X and labeled as the full roster. Do note that Goro is a pre-order/DLC character when looking here.
This was of course shown off during the latest Kombat Kast for Mortal Kombat X. During the stream a little bit was shown off for the mobile version of Mortal Kombat X and how it will sync up to the core version of the game. It seems a lot like Injustice‘s mobile game and such and we’ll save more updates for a later time. Also shown during the video stream was a look at two more characters in the roster, Kenshi and Sonya, and all of their variations we will get to play with on April 14th. That leaves only Goro, the DLC characters, Jax, and Jacqueline left to show. Hence the “almost” part in the headline. Crafty huh?
As usual you can see all of the variations below for these two Mortal Kombat X characters. Kenshi’s feel like they could all be fun to play with but I am not too sure on Sonya’s. With her variations I am not seeing much fun outside of the core “shared” move list being easy and useful in the fight. We will all have to use them when we hammer through the story mode for Mortal Kombat X but I just don’t see the amazingness of any of her variations as of yet. Maybe that will change once the game comes out and I can actually give them all a try.
Kenshi
- Balanced — Gains the ability to project images of himself to attack
- Possessed — Gains the ability to summon Demons from his shattered blade
- Kenjutsu — Gains Telekinetic Push, Slam, and Toss
Mortal Kombat X — Kenshi (Balanced Variation)
Mortal Kombat X — Kenshi (Possessed Variation)
Mortal Kombat X — Kenshi (Kenjutsu Variation)
Sonya Blade
- Covert Ops — Gains the Garrote Parry and Military Stance
- Demolition — Gains various Explosive and Disrupter Grenades
- Special Forces — Can call in a Special Forces Drone for additional attacks
Mortal Kombat X — Sonya Blade (Covert Ops Variation)
Mortal Kombat X — Sonya Blade (Demolition Variation)
Mortal Kombat X — Sonya Blade (Special Forces Variation)
NetherRealm has stated that they have three more character variations to show off before Mortal Kombat X comes out and that the rest of the game will have to be full of surprises for us. Those characters being Goro, which can be seen tomorrow as Amazon streams the first bit of gameplay, and then Jax and Jacqueline which will be shown next Thursday on the Kombat Kast. You can mark your calendars now so you don’t miss out and can see all things Mortal Kombat X before it is in our homes and getting the hells played out of it. Then expect the DLC character shortly before they can be downloaded…
What are your thoughts on the above variations for the Mortal Kombat X characters? Do you think Sonya’s is going to be fun to play or just something we have to trudge through to fully experience Mortal Kombat X? What about Goro? How excited are you for that? Let us know down in the comments.
