This Week In Video Games 8/10/26 — 8/14/26

A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of #videogames on the site this week

Knock one more week out of the year, and one more with so many video games to get excited for. Not just excited for, but some to keep on playing with some releases that also happened this week. A lot of building up to #CallOfDuty: Modern Warfare 4 to sell us all on the campaign again, and the upcoming #1666Amsterdam. Along with a big look at #TheSinkingCity 2 in the mix, and some other things outside of the world of video games with the latest for #HalloweenHorrorNights and all of the immersive interactions we are going to have there. Another solid week, and we are just about to get into the massive release and review season out there. The excitement just keeps on building.

Mafia: The Old Country Launches Us All Into A New & Expanded Story

Mafia: The Old Country Launches Us All Into A New & Expanded Story

The DLC expansion for Mafia: The Old Country is out there, and we can now see if the #Mafia has any men of honor in the mix

We have all been waiting for it, and now we have the launch of the latest DLC for #MafiaTheOldCountry. Not just some new cosmetics or basic DLC for the game, but some massive expansions into the story and challenges that Hangar 13 have been cooking up for a while now. At least for those who have gone through the full story of Mafia: The Old Country before today on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You might want to get on that before seeing how the Man Of Honor DLC is going to push us into two big story chapters to further expand the world and lore of the IP. A hard ask, I know, but you will be glad you did all of that before the launch is out there.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Will Put Us All Back Into The Trenches

One more look at the campaign for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is here, and it takes us back to some classic #CallOfDuty

Get ready to head back into the trenches in Call Of Duty: #ModernWarfare4, as it looks as if the campaign is going to place us back into that style of warfare. That is all based on the latest and small clip that Infinity Ward has given us for the game. They are still slowly dropping little clips of the campaign to get us all excited for October 16th when we will have a chance to see it all in motion on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. All of which will be alongside the coming beta for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, so there will be even more of the story to try to figure out as we head into the full launch of the game. #MW4

More Of The Insane Weirdness Is On The Way To VR With The Reveal Of High On Life VR

The world of High On Life is coming to life once again with the reveal of #HighOnLifeVR, giving us the same bit of fun

The virtual space is going to show us more of why our world sucks, as we are getting #HighOnLife VR on the #PSVR2, Steam #VR, and Meta systems. Not any time soon, as this is just a reveal from Squanch Games and Flat2VR Studios, but it is now coming. So, for those who enjoyed all of the humor and gunplay from before, it is time to start looking at getting some of that hardware if you do not have it already. Especially as High On Life VR does seem like it is going to have a few new things in the mix for gamers to try out. A few new things that are only truly capable in the VR space, so it might not be something you “need” to buy the game again for, but still a feature added in to give us the “want” to buy it all again. Let us dive into what that all entails.

Star Wars Zero Company Gives Us More To Be Tactical Over For The Game

Learn a bit more about how we will need to be tactical in Star Wars Zero Company to ensure that #ZeroCompany makes it through all of the coming missions

It feels as if so many release dates are coming up fast, and August 27th is another that will be here soon and bring #StarWars Zero Company to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There’s been a lot to take in for the game so far, and Bit Reactor, along with Respawn Entertainment, have been open about most of it. This is a turn-based game in the Star Wars universe, so there’s not much that would need to be hidden. That said, the teams are back to give us a new breakdown for Star Wars Zero Company so we’re fully ready to head out there and make it through all of the missions that we’ll have at launch. Some of us aren’t the best at the tactics, and that is what we have to share with you all today. Along with a few more of the broad strokes we can expect to partake in when the game is fully out there on our systems. Let’s break things down a bit more and get ready to blast out of this world. #SWZeroCo

Learn All That You Need To Know To Survive The Night In The Blood Of Dawnwalker

Here is everything you need to know to survive in The Blood Of Dawnwalker, and see if your #Dawnwalker will be able to save their family

With just a few weeks from the launch of #TheBloodOfDawnwalker on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, it is time to dig into what Rebel Wolves has been cooking up. It is unlikely that things will shift much between now and September 3rd, so it’s the perfect time to learn all we can for the game. Especially when it comes to the vampires we’re going to face and some of the other gameplay mechanics we’ve yet to experience in The Blood Of Dawnwalker. Not to mention, even though there’s a 30-day and night timeline for us to save the world, it does look as if there’s something in place to keep the game going if we fail in that task. Let’s dive into all that we can for the game with the latest look.
