The Resident Evil remakes keep coming, with the official announcement that we now have for #ResidentEvil Veronica

The fans have been crying out for it, and after a solid run at remakes that Capcom has been giving us all, we are finally getting #REVeronica. This would be a remake of the Code Veronica title from so long ago for those who are not fully up on their gaming lore, even if the title should have given that away a little bit. That all said, it was revealed to us and the world that Resident Evil #Veronica will be giving this little title a new bit of life with a release on the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch2, and #PC in 2027. That is a bit of a turnaround for it all, given that we just had the recent mainline title release this year, but they do have quite a few working on the IP over there, so I can see how that can all flow out there. That all said, let us have a look at just what was announced and on the way in the coming year.

We have had a solid teaser for the upcoming #ResidentEvilMovie, and now it looks as if we get to go behind the scenes a bit more with the film as it is still getting itself settled. The film is still slated to hit theaters on September 18th, so there is still a bit of time for things to change. Although there does seem to be one element that we should not expect to change for this Resident Evil film, and that is the fact that we are getting more of the survival horror side of things than the action we have had in the past. That is not a hidden secret, as Zach Cregger has been open about it, but now we get to peek behind the curtain a little to see how that is going to be brought into this film. We all knew it was coming after a solid run of films, and now we are here with the first look at Zach Cregger’s take on the Resident Evil franchise. I mean, there is more behind this film, but Mr. Cregger is the one they are billing to help it stand out from the last run of films that the IP went through. Many of them are bad, and a few okay ones are sprinkled in. Thankfully, this #ResidentEvilMovie is not leaning into any of that, and is set as something completely original, just with the setting of the IP to help drive it. That sounds very promising, and has been since the rumors started to circulate, but now we get to see it in action. Well, we have the first teaser trailer for the film to see in action, and will have to wait until September 18th to get the final judgement out there.

It’s been all good fun with casting announcements and various other things, but now, we get to see how it is all truly coming together with the latest trailer that we have for the film. One that seems to highlight the main story and many of the fighters we have had announced before now. The excitement has built up, and now, we’re here to see if Street Fighter is going to be the film that makes up for all of the other ones we have had in the past already. This title has been so anticipated, I am sure that many of you do not need the reminder that it is launching out there, but Capcom is giving it to us all just to be sure. A nice and little reminder that it is out there and the new horrors are ready for us all. That is not all, though, as there is more to the Resident Evil world out there today, and I think that needs a bit more reminding since it also dropped out there today. Yes, it is a video game and not some random merch that you can buy. All of this to make it one solid day, no matter what system you are looking to play all the games on. #RERequiem

The days are closing in until we are finally able to play #RERequiem on the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch2, and #PC. February 27th is just rushing on up to us, and I am sure Capcom is ready to see how we are all going to take the next title in the long-running line of games. Not that the rabid fans of Resident Evil have not already been champing at the bit to get this one home to see if we really needed more Leon in our lives. I am sure we do, but it feels like a missed chance to give us all something completely new and not testing waters with another character while forcing us to watch as a loved one might be coming to an end. That is what the latest story bits we have with the gameplay are alluding to, if I am understanding it correctly.

 

Resident Evil Requiem Showcases The Difference Between Grace & Leon

The latest showcase for Resident Evil Requiem is out there, and it shows how past #ResidentEvil titles are driving the gameplay

Just as we have all been promised, we have a new showcase out for #RERequiem. Partially to get us hyped up to pre-order the game before Capcom drops it on the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch2, and #PC, and partially to make sure we all know what titles from the past we should be familiar with before playing. Not just for the story, but as it seems that Grace will have some basis in certain Resident Evil titles when it comes to tone and gameplay, while Leon will have a vastly different one based on some of the other games. Grace being more of the tension and horror aspect of titles like RE2 and RE7. Leon, sadly, will be leaning into the action of things, but more like that of RE4. I mean, that is fitting, but I was under the impression that we were trying to move away from all of that. Given that it will run side-by-side, it could pay off, but that will not be the only bits of gameplay that we have to help carry us all through.
