Bite, Rip, & Rise Into Some Of The New Gameplay For Stupid Never Dies

Stupid Never Dies

A new bit of gameplay for Stupid Never Dies is out there to show off some of the new styles coming in Stupid Never Dies

It is time to see more of what Stupid Never Dies is going to have to offer up beyond the weird zombie love story that sold it in the first place. Okay, maybe that was not what sold it, and it might have been more that GPTRACK50 was leaning into the weird anime over-the-top aspect of things when it came to the world and gameplay. I am not currently here to debate all of that, as we now have a nice little gameplay showcase that offers up a little more of a look at the story Stupid Never Dies is going to bring, along with the actual gameplay cycle we are going to go through. Not just a button-masher and overly exaggerated moves. Yes, that is going to be in the mix, but there does seem to be a bit more style to what we are going to experience in the mix out there.

Those who missed out on what Stupid Never Dies is all about, we are playing as a lowly zombie in a monster-ruled world. Davy finds a frozen girl in a freezer and sets out on a path to bring her back to life. This will require some mastery of Davy’s undead body and the help of a mad scientist who is down to use Davy’s quest to also bring humanity back. This is where the weirder parts of Stupid Never Dies come in, as Davy will be able to modify his body with gear and tech found along the way. Davy will also be encouraged to devour fallen enemies out there on the field. Doing so will offer up some new fighting and action styles, along with some new looks for Davy in the game. Eleven of them from the listing here, all based around some classic monsters we are going to be facing out there. It is a good thing that Davy is also a little delusional with things, not just to keep pressing on, but in a way that will alter his world around him and grant some extra power as the fight carries on. As I said, it is a weird setup for things, but it does look like it will have so much to offer in variety when it launches.

A Bizarre Tale of Love and Ruin! Just What Is Davy Fighting For?

In the aftermath of the Great War, humanity teeters on the brink of extinction, and monsters rule the land.

At the bottom rung of this society is Davy, a lowly zombie scraping by in a deserted shopping mall. One day, he discovers the human girl Julia frozen to death in a freezer…and falls in love at first sight. Motivated by his newfound crush, Davy finds his purpose in undeath: “Somehow I’m gonna bring her back to life, and then…I’m gonna ask her out!”

In a freak snack-cident, Davy then steals a meal that grants him strange and powerful new abilities. Spurred into action by the eccentric Dr. Frank, who dreams of restoring humanity, and supported by a cast of shady yet endearing allies, Davy sets out for the monster-filled dungeon with his new powers.

Can this lovelorn underdog reclaim the world for humanity, revive Julia, and maybe even get his first girlfriend?!

Meet the Cast:

  • Davy: A timid zombie who’s never fought before. Mocked by monsters and humans, he rises for Julia. He’s a normal zombie on the surface, but in the dungeon’s miasma he can move freely.
  • Julia: During the Great War, a college student who fled to a shopping mall lost her life inside a freezer. It was Davy — a zombie wandering the mall — who discovered her. And seeing her there, frozen in time, the one already dead falls in love with her at first sight.
  • Dr. Frank: A self-proclaimed “supreme intellect of humanity.” He is unconcerned with how others perceive him as long as it serves his research. To achieve his goals, he provokes and pushes Davy into action.

“Funky Zombie Action” – Build the Ultimate Underdog!

Thanks to the miasma that permeates the dungeon, Davy gains powerful abilities to take him from zero to hero.

“Style Eat” — Devour enemies to steal their powers

Zombies devour their enemies! By consuming an enemy’s core, Davy can steal their abilities — and even his appearance changes. In addition to the default Zombie Style, players can acquire 10 other styles, for a total of 11 unique styles. Master each style and take down your foes!

  • Zombie Style: The Basic Style for Davy.
  • Werewolf Style: A speedy Style that lets you go on a wild rampage.
  • Harpy Style: A flying Style that attacks distant enemies with projectiles.
  • Golem Style: A tough and sturdy Style that sends packs of enemies flying.
  • Vampire Style: A Style that lets you control a swarm of bats.
  • Will-o’-the-Wisp Style: A Style that goes between the physical and astral planes.
  • Cyclops Style: A Style that specializes in big, all-or-nothing attacks.
  • Snow Fairy Style: A Style that freezes enemies and makes their power yours.
  • Merfolk Style: A Style that dives into the ground like water to attack foes.
  • Lich Style: A Style that uses the power of death to command skeletons.
  • Demon Style: A Style that uses whips and gravity to control enemy position

“Body Hack” — Modify your own body

Zombies do not hesitate to modify their bodies! Players can equip over-technology–enhanced weapons and parts to the left arm, right arm, head, and legs. Choosing which parts to equip can mean the difference between victory and defeat!

“Davy Burst” — A full-stat power surge

Paint the world with Davy’s delusions! This special power activates after repeated attacks and meeting certain conditions. Davy’s imagination overwhelms the visuals of the real world, dramatically boosting all abilities!

Stupid Never Dies will be available for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5 in 2026.

Are you sold on the idea for Stupid Never Dies as of yet, or will you need to see some true gameplay to better understand how the flow of things will be? How chaotic do you suspect things are going to get in the game with the different styles, and will we ever be forced to use one specifically in the game? How weird are all of the body modifications going to be, and will there be anything outside the usual weirdness of the style the team is going for with the game? Let us have those fun thoughts and more in the comment section further down the page here. I am glad to see that Stupid Never Dies is shaping up to be more than the silly game to be silly kind of thing it looked like when it was announced. We are still going to cover it if it does take a turn, so please keep on checking the website and all of our social channels to see when we have something to share. We are staying hopeful that it is going to keep on the path it looks to be on currently.
