LEGO fans need to get excited with the latest reveal we have for LEGO 2K Drive to make the world more awesome

There is another reason to get behind the virtual wheel again with the reveal of LEGO 2K Drive. As the name suggests, it is a new racing title set in the Bricklandia world that has captured us all for so long. It is also a new racing game from Visual Concepts and 2K that is poised to hit the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC on May 19th. A nice little turnaround from reveal to launch for us all to all while trying to grab the attention of many more that have tried some of the others that are based around our childhoods too. Even if it may not be the LEGO game that many have been waiting for out there.

In addition to being a new racing game, LEGO 2K Drive will be giving us more of the same humor and fun that the universe has always been able to give us. All while letting us build and customize our own car in the mix while offering up classic builds we have seen over the years. Then we will be able to take the races online or play it at home with a two-player split-screen at home too. That should be fun to go through as we fire off the various things that will keep the races in LEGO 2K Drive a little dynamic to shift placements and the like. The traditional kart-racing gameplay but with this IP’s normal flair. If only someone would use the ideas from Split/Second again in a game…

Additionally, a collaboration with supercar and hypercar company McLaren Automotive will bring the McLaren Solus GT and McLaren F1 LM—just released in a LEGO Speed Champions double-pack set to help celebrate 60 years since McLaren was founded by racer and engineer Bruce McLaren—to the world of Bricklandia, as the cover cars perfectly encapsulate the thrilling, high-octane experience fans can expect in LEGO 2K Drive.

Did you need another kart-racing game in your life and will you be glad to see it is a LEGO one? Will we be able to shift our cars in the middle of the race as the video alludes to or is that just for the fun marketing of it all? Wouldn’t this title be a good way to bring in mechanics that will change the track and world in the mix or is that a mechanic that is on the way out still? Take to the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to. There should be more for LEGO 2K Drive in the coming weeks leading to launch, so please keep checking back for all of those updates and many more to come.
