ELEX

A new trailer for ELEX is here and it is showing off the third faction of ELEX as the Clerics who are all technology over everything else

We have met the Berserkers and the Outlaws for ELEX already and with the game hitting the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 17th it makes sense that we get to meet yet another of the factions in the game, The Clerics. Do not think these are all just holy men and women as the name kind of alludes to, but more of Piranha Bytes‘ version of them in this post-apocalyptic world where and endless struggle rages on. THQ Nordic sure loves their post-apocalypses here don’t they? Either way, in ELEX each faction takes the doomed world and new element from the meteor impact in different ways, and now is the time to see how these Clerics do just that.

Like I said, the Clerics in ELEX are not the traditional version of the archetype. They do have their set beliefs and their God that they worship, but their big focus is on not using the new substance for anything other than running their high-tech gear and weapons. They choose not to imbibe the stuff here but use it as a battery of sorts. Not the traditional thing you equate to Clerics in all of the fantasy games out there and as ELEX is one-third fantasy game, it would have made sense for them to live up to stereotypes, but they are not. I am perfectly fine with all of that as it does look like it will give us all access to some pretty cool robots and gear in the final game.

ELEX — The Cleric Faction

The site of the meteor’s impact, Ignadon is driven by constant volcanic activity. Thought to be devoid of life, Ignadon was the perfect hiding place for the Clerics to grow in power. Followers of the god Calaan, the Clerics see the consumption of Elex in any form as a sin. Instead they use Elex to power their machines. Guardians of Magalan’s technology, the Clerics put their faith in Calaan, plasma weapons, mechs and the power of industry. From the ashes shall rise a new Magalan even more advanced than before.

What are your thoughts on the Clerics of ELEX as we see here? Do you like that they are breaking from a lot of the norms here or would you have rather seen them dive into the traditional fantasy world version of Cleric? Does this look the like the faction for you or will you be going with one of the other ones that we have seen so far? Let everyone know down in the comments and then discuss. For more on ELEX as the release date approaches, make sure to stay right here. We will keep the news and updates flowing onto the site here and you will not want to miss out on a single nugget of information.
