New videos for Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy are here to better explain how the Guardians will explore and fight in these new worlds
The first impressions for Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy have been flowing out during the week along with some of the gameplay that those other outlets could cobble together. Hells, we had some here for you as well but none of it had any real explanation as to what is going on in the game. Well, beyond some of the basics that we know will be there as we gear up to play with the Guardians in the mix. Thankfully, Eidos-Montréal has opted to not leave most of us out in the lurch and to speculate as to what is going on and have broken down some of the gameplay features we saw highlighted before. All so we can have some better context and understand what to expect in a month when the game launches on October 26th.
The first video we have here dives into some of the explorations that the Guardians will have to do in the game. Some of which we were able to nail down with Rocket being here to upgrade everyone’s abilities and skills. We would also have a chance to move about the Milano for various reasons and to change out our skins for the characters from some iconic ones to some made just for the game. I am curious to see if there will be some that mimic that of the film versions of the Guardians, but that could be hoping for too much. At least we do get to see how the team will need to work together, like those ones, to traverse the world and more. It looks like we cannot just hope that Peter’s rocket boots will be able to bypass so much of the game.
Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy — Lead the Guardians: Exploration
In our second gameplay video, see how you can interact with the Guardians in exploration, make choices to shape how the story plays out, and customize the team by unlocking abilities, upgrades and outfits. It’s a big adventure and the Guardians will be at your side every step of the way.
One of the other bigger aspects of Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy that we know will be a huge hit will be the combat. This is the other big focus here with Peter still the main character we play as while calling in the others as abilities of sorts. Rocket will be more of an AOE fighter in the mix. Groot will be the support and healer as we speculated before. Drax is the tank to send in and cause all kinds of pain. Gamora will be the finesse and assassin of the group, with no surprise. This leaves Peter to be the ranged of the Guardians so we can see the battlefield and help along the way too. Also as we speculated, Peter’s gun will be able to master all four of the basic elements out there so we can add even more to the coolness of the character.

Rocket is the explosive specialist, great at taking out multiple enemies at the same time. Groot is the protector of the group, he can immobilize enemies and bring back fallen Guardians. Drax is literally a wrecking ball, he’s the best at inflicting stagger damage and stunning enemies. Gamora fights with finesse and fury, and dishes out massive health damage. Finally, Star-Lord is the leader with a versatile combat style: he can fight melee or at range with his blasters, which have different elemental powers. He’s very agile both on the ground and in the air with his jet-boots, and can assess the situation while hovering.
Is this all that you expected to see here for the Guardians based on what we knew before or were there some truly surprising extras mixed in? Do you like the fact that we will have normal traversal mechanics in the game or would you rather just fly around everywhere?
