Get Caught Up On Things Just Ahead Of The Launch For Styx: Blades Of Greed

Styx: Blades Of Greed

If you need a refresher of the tale of Styx just before the launch of Styx: Blades Of Greed, we have you covered

It has been a bit of time between the last few games and the upcoming Styx: Blades Of Greed, so it would make sense if you need a fun little recap of what is going on in the game’s world. I know I need it, even though I fell in love with each and played them a few times, and it also looks like Cyanide Studios thinks we deserve a recap. It has been close to nine years since the last time Styx was out there in the world for our enjoyment. That is why we are back with a recap of the first two titles, so you are ready to jump right into the mix of things when this one hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 19th. Just next week, and we get to head back into the shadows.

You can get the full rundown of Styx’s story in the following video, but the quicker version goes like this. Our hero started off as a clone of a grumpier and meaner goblin in the world. He did not like being used as a slave and a sacrifice, so he killed the original version and took up the assassin and thieving fun. Along the way, Styx learns more of the fantasy world and of a new, mysterious thing called Quartz. Something that he can pull into himself, and it seems to imbue him with more power and abilities. It is also something that the Inquisition uses to keep the world in control. So, along with a ragtag group of adventurers, they have set forth to take back the Quartz and give it straight to Styx. A win-win situation, so our little goblin has no issue joining up with elves, dwarves, humans, and halflings to get the job done.

Styx: Blades Of Greed — Previously On Styx

Styx: Blades Of Greed is releasing on February 19th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Schemes within schemes. Lies within lies.

That’s the story of Styx’s glorious life.

Before the blood, the betrayals, and the next big mistake, here’s a reminder of how he crawled out of the Tower of Akenash… and straight into even bigger trouble.

This story trailer revisits the key events of Styx: Master Of Shadows and Styx: Shards Of Darkness, leading to his newest obsession: Quartz… and the chaos of Styx: Blades Of Greed.

Same goblin. New mess.

Styx: Blades Of Greed launches February 19, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
