Carmageddon: Max Damage
A new Carmageddon title is heading to the PS4 and Xbox One in the way of Carmageddon: Max Damage and it is time to let the madness ensue
If you were hoping that there would be another Carmageddon title soon or even one to head to the PS4 and Xbox One then it looks like today is the day you were hoping for as Carmageddon: Max Damage is that game. Yes, Stainless Games has been crafting another in the franchise since the last not-so-popular PC title that released last year. Of course take all of that as you will but that doesn’t change the fact that we are getting a new title sometime “mid-2016” or whatever that means. I’m going to guess August for now.
Carmageddon: Max Damage is looking to bring 30 custom vehicles, each with their own unique character, to drive around Bleak City’s 10 large areas. Of course driving is only part of it as you will still be driving down pedestrians in wheelchairs, cyclists, other cars, bears, and aliens over the course of the 6 different event types. Each of course is available in online and offline mode all so you can run down the innocent in true Carmageddon style. If you need a good comparison because you don’t know the franchise think along the lines of Twisted Metal and you’ll be close.
Carmageddon: Max Damage — Announcement
I am a bit curious on where the public outcry of violence is here for Carmageddon: Max Damage though. The premise and the above trailer are pretty much on par with the murdering of innocent people just for a “high score” and yet no one calling afoul here? Isn’t this just Hatred with cars? Mind you I have no issue with either game being made but seeing as we took away the dark, angry man with a gun and replaced him with a huge car no one seems to see Carmageddon in that same light. Can we not call afoul on you humans yet for just looking for something to complain about?
There I go proselytizing again though where the big news in Carmageddon: Max Damage is on its way to the PS4 and Xbox One. Given my fandom for the Twisted Metal franchise I would still say I’d be more interested in seeing that make the leap to the next gen systems but that doesn’t seem like it is going to happen any time soon. With that it looks like Carmageddon is going to have to do for now and we’ll see how it does later this year.
What do you think about Carmageddon: Max Damage here? Do you think it will be just as fun as we all remember the franchise from so long ago or is this just a quick grab to keep Stainless Games floating while they work on their next magnum opus? Do you see the hypocrisy in video game violence here in Carmageddon as I do or is it because it is silly that we ignore it? Let us know and discuss in the comments below. As we get more on Max Damage we will have it up on the site. Stick around so you can keep up to the minute on it and all things video games.
