Control Resonant
See how Control Resonant is taking us all a bit further than the original Control allowed us all to go before
We have been inside The Oldest House quite a bit before, and Control Resonant aims to take us all outside of that setting. This is all something many would know just from playing the first game, and from what Remedy has shown off during all of the videos we have had since the game was first revealed. Not to mention, we will be playing as the brother and captive character we saw in Control, so it does make sense that they are going out of their way to give us a new setting for the game. As long as it holds up, I think many of us will enjoy it all on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Which means we need to have a look at how they are taking us out of that setting and giving us something new. That is where the latest behind-the-scenes video for the game comes in. It is all about taking us to a new area, along with the how and why we are doing all of that. Let us dig right in.
If you played the first Control, then you would know that it took place mostly in The Oldest House and with Jesse. The sequel we have on the way is letting us take up the role of Dylan Faden, Jesse’s brother, who has spent most of his life locked up in The Oldest House. So, to parallel things, Dylan gets to head out of the building and take on all of the entities in the streets. Along with all of the Resonants that have escaped containment. This is why the stakes are a bit higher in Control Resonant, and we are going to have some world-altering abilities in the game. Unless all of this is just taking place in Dylan’s head or a different dimension that the Hiss originally came from. I would like to think that they would not do something that basic for this game, but it would be an easy way to explain what we are seeing. Especially after seeing how Dylan can shift the world around to change the orientation of things. It would also ruin the story bits that the team is pushing if we were not truly leaving the building. Have a look at all of that in the latest video.
Control Resonant — Beyond The Oldest House
Go beyond the Oldest House and behind the scenes of Control Resonant, the upcoming sequel to Control.
Remedy speaks directly to Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen and other key members of the development team about what it means to make the sequel, and what players can expect from the upcoming action RPG. Step into Dylan Faden’s shoes and go behind the scenes in this first development diary for our new game, Control Resonant.
Control Resonant arrives in 2026 to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and Mac via Steam and the App Store.
Do you think we are truly leaving the building in Control Resonant, or will there be some level of mind game going on? Is it weird that they are giving the male character a bigger role in all of this, or do you see it all as the normal progression of the story? What other powers will Dylan have outside of The Oldest House, and will they break things for all of the normal humans in the mix? Let us discuss all of that in the comment section. There is certainly more in the works for Control Resonant, and we will have it all here on the website. Just keep on coming back to see it all, and follow all of our social channels to know when the latest drops out there. New things are flowing out there all the time, and you will not want to miss out on any of it before and after the game launches.
