The Light Keeps Us Safe
A new trailer for The Light Keeps Us Safe is here to show off some gameplay as well as announce The Light Keeps Us Safe is heading to Early Access
We have a new trailer for The Light Keeps Us Safe to take in today to get a look and feel for the game before it comes to the PC in Early Access on October 11th here. Maybe you have heard of this title or maybe you have not, but this is the next title in the growing list that Big Robot has coming for us here. You may know them from their titles Sir, You Are Being Hunted and The Signal From Tölva!. In any instance, The Light Keeps Us Safe is now coming and we have our first guided look at how the gameplay for the game will play out. At least in terms of the exterior environments.
Something sounds a bit interesting here for The Light Keeps Us Safe, outside of different light sources being able to drive off the enemies in the game, is that the exterior environments will be procedurally generated. Nothing new to video games, but it is how it is noted that only the outer areas will be this way. This leads me to believe that interiors will be set up much many other video games. This may not be the case in The Light Keeps Us Safe, but it is how it sounds here in the new gameplay trailer we have. Take a look and see if you agree with me.
The Light Keeps Us Safe — Gameplay
A new game from the creators of Sir, You Are Being Hunted and The Signal From Tölva!
Tense, weird, and disturbing, this is a stealth and survival game where only the light can save you.
The sky has flickered and gone out. The food is gone and the power can’t last much longer. You can’t stay down here, cowering in the bunker. Those things out there in the dark will only take so long to find their way in… It’s time to go outside and face what’s waiting for you out there. Maybe then you can go into The Light, like the others…
Only The Light Can Keep Us Safe.
Gameplay
The Light Keeps Us Safe is a procedurally-generated apocalypse in which you must master light to survive. Use stealth and evasion to avoid terrifying machines that patrol the desolate world, and employ the powers of Light to unpick their deadly traps.
This is an Early Access release. It contains the first chapter of the game, including your bunker-base hub and the initial set of wild and dangerous outdoor environments. A detailed development roadmap will be revealed at launch that will include new environments, enemies and much more.
What do you think about The Light Keeps Us Safe as it all stands right now? Do you think that the whole game will be procedural and it is just a weird wording here or will it only be the exteriors of the world? How do you think all of the lights will interact in the game and will they be more than the basic “this color stops this enemy but helps this one” kind of mechanic? Let us all know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If there is more to share for The Light Keeps Us Safe, we will share it here. Just stick around on the site to see all of that.
