Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown

A new look at the space exploration coming in Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown is out there, so we can truly get the Star Trek Experience

It is time for us all to explore a little more into the universe of Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown. Not just in terms of the game, but in the actual gameplay mechanics we’re going to need to use to make it around the universe that gameXcite and Daedalic Entertainment are putting together out there. Something that some of you who want to see how close to the Delta Quadrant they have made things can do with a demo that is out there on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC currently. Those looking for that demo on the Switch 2, that will be coming in February some time before the 18th when Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown launches on all of those platforms. If you want to go further without the demo, that is where this new deep dive video will help out. Let’s dive in.

Much of the piloting around in Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown will be more of a point and click affair when you look at it, but there is a bit more than that. We are going to need to send out scans to see what is out there and what will be worth the resources to investigate. Sometimes, these will be things that will grant us more resources, and other times, these will be things that will spark encounters, with so many other variations between. Most of which will be solved using a success meter system based on the current state of the ship or the crew members being tasked with certain actions. This will go the same way with the “Away Missions” that we can undertake in Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown. Although those will be more of a motion comic style of adventure than actually moving the ship from location to location. As we manage those resources and the morale of the crew to make sure that doesn’t dip too low and cause the full mission of the game to fail. You can get more of the nitty-gritty details for this in the following video, if you aren’t just playing the demo that is out there already.

Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown — Exploration Deep Dive

In this exploration deep dive, game designer Chris shows how you chart a course through the Delta Quadrant: scanning unknown systems, choosing which signals to investigate, and deciding how much risk your crew can take before morale starts to crack. From hazardous nebulas to unexpected encounters, every choice shapes your journey home.

Step into Captain Janeway’s seat – and decide when to push forward, and when to move on.

Take command of the iconic U.S.S. Voyager in Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown! Explore, survive, and shape the crew’s journey home. Available February 18th, preorder now.

Does all of this truly feel Star Trek to you? Do you like that we will have various things like nebulas that will cause the systems to malfunction? Will there be a way to play the whole game without getting into any conflicts out there? How hard is it truly going to be to keep the crew’s morale high in all of these missions? Let’s talk all about that in the comment section further down the page here. I know I am still hyped up to see the final version of Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown out there, so expect a few more updates for all of that soon. As we get those ready to share to the world, be sure to watch the site for all of our other updates, along with all of our socials to make sure you see everything we share.
