Microsoft gave us games. Lots and lots of games. So many games in fact that my head is spinning. So lets do a quick recap of what happened.
Well first, and mostly, there were games being shown. Games, games, and more games. Here is a short list and features of the 13 games we were promised.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain
- A truly open world experience
- Parcially takes place in Afghanistan and looks like it might also take place in Africa
- Real time weather effects
- Realistic passage of time
- Vehicles, tons and tons of vehicles: Jeeps, Tanks, Trucks, Cars and most likely mainy more
- Deeper stealth action (Dynamic dodging, crawling, etc.)
- Dynamic close quarters combat. Not much known about this except for a little showcase during the demo.
- A large roster of characters, some new, some old. Ocelot, Quiet, Snake, etc.
- Keither Sutherland is the new voice of Snake.
Killer Instinct
- Jago, Sabrewolf, and Glacius confirmed
- Xbox One exclusive
- ULTRA COMBO!!!! is back
- Still using a 2D fighting plane
- Will be released in 2013 and probably a launch title
World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition
- Free-To-Play
- For Gold Members that is
- Coming this Summer for Xbox 360
Sunset Overdrive
- Insomniac Games’ newest project
- No gameplay was revealed, sadly
- Cinematic trailer revealed some good free running, mutant monster slaying, a vinyl launcher, and of course some damn good punk rock
- No release date yet
- Looks like it might be multiplayer oriented
Ryse: Son of Rome
- New Crytek game
- Xbox One Exclusive
- Combat in the trailer was shortened in length for time purposes
- Expect to fight a lot of enemies
Dark Souls II
- Expect to die. A LOT.
- No info on the story yet
Project Spark
- User created games / world
- Really cool idea and can’t wait to try this out!
- The possibilities are nearly endless
TitanFall
- Respawn Entertainment’s new game
- Mechs, free running, and overall epic.
- Bullet points dont do it justice, watch the reveal trailer.
Battlefield 4
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
- Will be open world
- Non-linear quests
- Combat has been reworked from the ground up
Dead Rising 3
- Takes place in California
- New hero named Nick, looks like he’s a mechanic
- You can still combine items and weapons to make cool things.
- You can also call in Artillery Strikes
- Xbox One Exclusive coming out this Holiday Season
General Info:
- Xbox One Price tag is $500 USD
- Will be shipping this November.
- Your Xbox 360 accounts will carry over to Xbox One
- Xbox Live Gold Members will receive 2 (two) free game downloads a month.
- Twitch.TV will be integrated into the system, enabling you to live stream any game on your console.
- A New Halo (probably Halo 5) will be released in 2014.
