MultiVersus Is Launching Out There With A Few More Villains Now

MultiVersus

The launch trailer for MultiVersus is here and shows off two more villains on the way to the madness of MultiVersus

With MultiVersus launching full on May 28th, one would think that we had all of the surprises out there and maybe a bit of gameplay to pull us further in. It seems we have a little of that on the way but Player First Games and Warner Bros. seem to have a few more tricks up their sleeves as we all wait for the game to land on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. A few more tricks in the way of showing off two more villain characters and alternate skins for MultiVersus. Although, the bigger announcement would be that Jason Voorhees and Agent Smith will be playable in the game after it launches.

While we do have a new trailer to show off the characters on their way to MultiVersus, it is a cinematic one that does not show off how they will play. Just how they will look for now. Even if Jason will be available on the day of launch and Agent Smith somewhere down the line in the Season 1: Puns & Villainy bit of content that is planned for their free-to-play title. Well, at least the core version of MultiVersus will be free-to-play as I have a feeling it will be all the expansion and other in-game currency that will be where the publisher makes their money back on all of this. Have a quick look at what is on the way with this fun crossover addition.

MultiVersus — Launch Trailer

Warner Bros. Games released a new MultiVersus cinematic launch trailer revealing Jason Voorhees from the Friday The 13th horror movie franchise and Agent Smith from The Matrix film series as playable characters coming to the free-to-play platform fighter videogame, which is scheduled to officially release on May 28.

Both new fighters will join the MultiVersus roster alongside DC Super-Villain The Joker as part of Season 1: Puns & Villainy. Jason Voorhees will be available at launch, while Agent Smith will release later in the season.

In addition to Jason and Agent Smith, the action-packed cinematic trailer showcases an epic mash-up of heroes and villains from MultiVersus, including Wonder Woman and The Joker (DC), Velma (Scooby-Doo), Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes), Iron Giant (The Iron Giant), Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty), Stripe (Gremlins), and Finn the Human and Cake the Cat, a variant of Jake the Dog (Adventure Time).

I can honestly say that I did not think Jason would be showing up in MultiVersus, but I am glad to see that he is. I am also curious to see how the main story of it all is going to play out since this makes it seem like it is The Joker behind everything in this one. This is all a cinematic and not true gameplay, so it could also just be something flashy to pull in more players for MultiVersus. In just over a week, we will know for sure, but it is fun to see some other horror icons getting the fun, cartoony love that others have been getting out there.

Does seeing Jason in MultiVersus make you want to pick the game up now or will you need to see what other villains are on the way? What will the overall story lead us to in the game or will it be loose based on a few random events? Will we need to fight all of our variants out there or is it just a good way to sell more skins down the line? Head down to the comment section to discuss it all and let the world know your thoughts. When we get anything more for MultiVersus, we will aim to share it all with you here. Please keep on checking in for those updates and the many others we have coming down the line.
