RIPOUT Is Heading Into The Early Access Stage This Month

The early access for RIPOUT is on the way to us with RIPOUT hitting it before the end of October

There have been a lot of things going on behind the scenes and in front of things for RIPOUT, and now we have hit the next stage in the game’s evolution. The Early Access phase of it all with Pet Project Games finally ready to drop it on the PC in that form. All to further get it ready for the final release on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S too. It is time to get excited, if you were not already, as RIPOUT is heading to Early Access on October 24th. Just in time to add to the horror of Halloween, as well as add to the horror video games we all know and love out there. Especially after all of the hard work we have seen go into this one to get it ready for the gaming community out there.

The move to this new state comes about after the two closed betas and two demos we have had out there for RIPOUT, with the developers listening to us all and using the feedback to take the next step. The next step to give us a co-op horror shooter where we will be taking down some various mutants and other horrors in the mix. All with our “pet gun” in RIPOUT and all of the other loot we can collect along the way. We are going to be the last bit of humanity out there in this world and we need to save the species for some reason. Even if it does look like they all had their chance and caused their own downfall here in the game. Maybe I am a little too cynical for this one and want to see the world not devolve into the horror landscape we will have by the end of the month…

RIPOUT — Release Date

After two rounds of closed beta testing, two public demos, and several rounds of community feedback, Pet Project Games is releasing its co-op horror FPS game into Early Access on October 24th, 2023.

The game will be released on PC and will be available for purchase on the three major digital video game marketplaces — Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. The company has also announced that RIPOUT will be coming to consoles (PlayStation, Xbox) in early 2024.

RIPOUT is an online co-op horror FPS that will have players fight their way through procedurally generated derelict ships filled with mutants capable of reconfiguring their alien bodies. Players will fight alongside their trusty Pet Gun companion, collect loot, and customize their characters in their quest to find the last bastion of humanity.

RIPOUT – Main features:

  • Cooperative PVE Gameplay – Embark on a variety of missions and explore derelict ships alone or in small teams.
  • High Variety Of Reconfigurable Monsters – Fight genetically altered beings who are able to strengthen and reconfigure themselves by attaching smaller mutants to their bodies. You will never know what to expect from their enemies!
  • Living Pet Gun – Stand your ground using your trusty Pet Gun, harness the power of the sentient biotech yourself, and turn it against your foe.
  • Weapon Modifications And Character Classes – Customize your weapon and choose between multiple character specializations to find the perfect mix for your playstyle.
  • Quick, Action-Packed Missions – Explore countless derelict ships in various short, 10–20-minute missions and prepare for the unexpected; you’ll never know what horrors lurk around the corner.
  • Procedurally Generated Levels – Enjoy endless replayability and suspense, thanks to the procedurally generated level design.
  • Scalable Difficulty – Expect a challenge for teams of all sizes, thanks to RIPOUT’s scaling difficulty.

I have been interested and excited to see how RIPOUT has come to grow over the development time, and here we finally are. Specifically, I have been looking at the scalable difficulty that is listed here and how that will shape things up in the game. I know that is a truly difficult thing to nail down, which is most likely why we are still looking at an Early Access for the game instead of a full launch at this point. If the team is able to nail that down for RIPOUT, I am certain that will be one of the things that keeps this all going. All so we do not need to worry about how well one player is doing and if the basic versions will be too tough or too easy in general. That is usually how it all goes when it comes to video game difficulty out there. Not much more time now and we will get to know.

Were you part of all of the earlier tests for RIPOUT or did you hold off until now? Will you be helping out in the Early Access or will you still be waiting for the final version to drop out there? Could we see a true scalable difficulty in the game or will it still boil down to there not being a good middle ground in the mix? Take to the comment section and feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. We will share more for RIPOUT as we head on toward the release of it all. The Early Access will offer up quite a few new things to look at, so be on the lookout for all of that and much more.
