Rise Of The Tomb Raider
The new DLC for Rise Of The Tomb Raider was shown off at Gamescom and now those not in attendance get to see how this new Tomb Raider content plays out
We’ve heard and seen some of the new Rise Of The Tomb Raider DLC that will be coming on October 11th but those fans that made the trek out to Gamescom had a chance to see a bit more. Crystal Dynamics had quite a bit to show off for all the platforms that Square Enix will be bringing the DLC and game to finally and now we have a chance to have a look at it too. Not just in some small clips but in some extended Rise Of The Tomb Raider gameplay showing off from the PS4 build even though it will be coming to the Xbox One and PC through the Season Pass you all most likely picked up before. All for the 20th anniversary that is going on.
First up in the Rise Of The Tomb Raider was some of the gameplay from the core game but on the PS4 version of the game. Nothing too special for those following along with the game since its first launch last year but new for those who stayed clear until it finally came to the PS4. Then we have a look at the new Blood Ties DLC that will have Lara searching around Croft Manor for proof that she is the rightful heir to the property. This will also be the portion of the DLC that will have PS VR support when that comes out. I know I’m excited to get a look at it there and in that mode. I’m just not sure how that will fully work based on what I see here.
Last up is the other bit of new DLC for Rise Of The Tomb Raider called Lara’s Nightmare. This is the new zombie mode for the game that looks to have more than just zombies attacking you. For some reason Lara’s uncle has set them loose on her and she needs to survive on through. It doesn’t look like there is a timer or other indicators as to how it ends besides Lara dying but maybe it is just more story to be had in an extremely messed up way. I guess we’ll find out what Crystal Dynamics has set up for us on October 11th.
