High On Life 2
A new developer diary for High On Life 2 is here to further show off the sights and sounds we will experience in High On Life 2
We have had some of the jokes, and some of the writing coming in High On Life 2, now it is time to look at the environments and the sound design in the game. Something that is usually overlooked by many, even though it makes a good portion of the game, and you might just be unaware of it all. Squanch Games is not unaware, and that is where the new diary comes in from them. A look at how the worlds, levels, and biomes are coming to life, along with hearing just how some of the audio design will take us further into the other universes that High On Life 2 aims to do. That all said, let us kick back and take in the next video as we wait for the game to launch on February 13
While most of the basics are about what we would expect in any game, it looks as if High On Life 2 leaned even further into the skateboard theming of things when it came to the worlds. All of the weird visuals and other elements that skateboarding is known for, on top of the weirdness the team is known for, is a winning combination. It is just interesting since that is the new locomotion mechanic we are getting in High On Life 2, and I do not know why I did not put that together from the first videos we have seen for the game. It makes perfect sense, indeed, more than it does for making weird bird noises to throw gamers off. You will have to watch the full video below to understand that reference, and so you can fully appreciate what is going on in the games. I will let you to it.
High On Life 2 — Environments & Sounds
High On Life 2 looks and sounds amazing because of everything in this video. Not that there isn’t more to it than what is explained here in 3 minutes. There definitely is, but if we talked about every single detail, you’d have to watch a video that’s like 420 hours long.
An intergalactic conspiracy threatens the fate of humanity! Team up with a wide cast of talking alien guns as you shoot, stab, and skate your way through the exotic locales to take down the bad guys and save your favorite species (humans)!
Are you at all surprised that High On Life 2 is leaning into the skateboard culture more, or did it feel a little like a surfer vibe with all of the water areas? Do you think all areas in the game will be made perfect for skateboarding, or will we have a few that are made to be difficult in general? Will you actually know when a bird noise is not right, and do you all listen to all of the birds in the wild? Let us discuss it all in the comment section further down the page. There should be a bit more for High On Life 2 before it launches, so expect us to have all of that here for you. You will not be let down by any of the news and updates we have on the way to you all.
