The Evil Within 2 Looks To Ramping Up Some Of The Action Now

The Evil Within 2

Another trailer for The Evil Within 2 is here and it shows a bit more of the action we can expect mixed into The Evil Within 2 when it launches

If you like to have a lot of action in your horror games, then get ready to add The Evil Within 2 into the mix as the latest trailer definitely shows that there will be plenty of that mixed into the final game. Not that Tango Gameworks is going out of their way to make this game in that vein, but it certainly looks like there will be more of it in this title when compared to the prior one. So far, The Evil Within IP has been more of the true horror side of the spectrum, but maybe this was a call from on high over at Bethesda. That or it was just where it needed to progress to keep things going for those who like to pussyfoot through their horror titles. I guess we will know for certain on October 13th when it hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

All of that aside, we do have a nice and new trailer for The Evil Within 2 to gaze upon here and it is filled with a lot more action than we have seen before. Not just in the shooting nightmare creatures in the face and making them explode, but a lot more explosions and a lot more firepower on Sebastian’s side of the fight. If I did not know any better, this trailer would make it look like The Evil Within 2 is doing to the game what Resident Evil 5 did to the overall flow of the franchise. Thankfully, we have seen quite a bit more to show that this title will be completely seeded with the creepy and suspenseful horror instead of just the jump scares and running fire-fights that could drag that all away.

The Evil Within 2 — Race Against Time

Time is not on your side in The Evil Within 2. As Sebastian Castellanos, you will face unimaginable terrors as you fight to find your daughter within the nightmare of STEM and get her out safely before the entire system crumbles around you. On top of the hideous creatures that roam the streets, you’ll also have to contend with the likes of Stefano and Theodore – twisted individuals who have made their horrific homes inside of STEM and are warping the weakened world to suit their wills. Should the world be completely destroyed, there won’t be any escape for Sebastian or Lily. But Sebastian isn’t completely alone; several Mobius agents have also made their way into STEM and may be willing to offer some help. See the ruined world and a few of these agents in the latest trailer.

It is interesting to note that this trailer does give The Evil Within 2 more of a Silent Hill vibe to the world when it is broken down. Technically the way STEM is set up, it could easily do that, but it feel more like that this time around instead of it was before. Even with the collapsing road creating the new island we will be on. Sure, this is not something that is not used time and time again, but this specific shot feels exactly like what I remember experiencing before. Maybe that is just my nostalgic brain picking up on that and not looking at The Evil Within 2 with completely fresh eyes. We will know for sure here soon though. At least that is the hope over here…

What was your takeaway for this trailer for The Evil Within 2? Do you agree that there looks to be a lot more action mixed into this game or was it just how the trailer was cut and we will have more of the super-creepy aspects to deal with instead? What other horror games do you see here and do you think Tango Gameworks is just using it as on homage to them or is it just the same tricks being repackaged here? Let everyone know down in the comments and then discuss. There will be much more on The Evil Within 2 in the coming weeks and we will have it all here for you. Be sure to keep checking in on the site to see it all and keep as up to date as possible.
