The Outlast Trials

A new story for The Outlast Trials is on the way that could be a way to end things out there in the world of Outlast

‘Tis the season out there and it looks as if things are getting shaken up a bit in The Outlast Trials. Shaken up in a great way with Red Barrels kicking off the next big update and story for the game. One that gives us all manner of Christmas presents in the mix that we are going to need to survive as well as the next big story push for the game. In fact, this one is a huge gift to one of the subjects in The Outlast Trials as it looks like someone has escaped it all. Yes, we have our first one to get out and it looks like they are trying to pass that gift along to the rest of us in Project Breach when it kicks off on December 10th for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC out there.

This whole new story for The Outlast Trials seems to highlight Amelia and the escape went down. Not only that, but Amelia seems to have stuck close by to help other subjects make their way out too. A rough call to make as it would make some sense to go grab the authorities to raid the place instead. I guess, though, in the world of Outlast we do not know how deep Murkoff is in everything and that could lead to something worse, so I guess that makes sense. Either way, we are getting this new story, a new map, a new trial, and a holiday event just in time for Christmas in the mix called Winter Kills. Along with the usual other updates and changes that we can expect in these large updates for the game. Here is a look at the story we have so far so we can get a better idea of how things are going to shake out when we jump into the trials again.

The Outlast Trials — Project Breach

Red Barrels revealed a new trailer for the four-player survival horror game The Outlast Trials, teasing the upcoming Project Breach update which will bring an exciting addition: Amelia, an escaped test subject now turned against Murkoff, voiced by Caroline Dhavernas (Hannibal, Mary Kills People & Wonderfalls).

Project Breach will introduce Amelia’s story, along with a brand new trial, a new environment, a new member of the Ex-Pop, a new jammer Rig, a new release, and more when it launches December 10, 2024.

Despite the concerns about Amelia’s escape, Easterman pushes forward with new experiments, including the new Story Trial, “Pleasure the Prosecutor” in the new map, Downtown. Players must navigate Franco’s twisted cabaret, turning his devious theater against itself. Meanwhile, Murkoff Corporation ensures Reagents stay focused on their trials with new content, discouraging distractions or thoughts of escape.

In addition to Amelia’s storyline, Project Breach introduces:

  • A New Trial: Pleasure the Prosecutor
  • A New Map: Downtown
  • New MK-Challenges:
    • Reunite The Family: The nuclear family is the societal ideal. Release the orphan from the shackles of the state and reunite him with his mother and father.
    • Deface The Futtermans: Childhood memories are the stagnation that impedes your growth. Put away the childish things that clutter your mind.
  • A New Rig: The Jammer
  • A New Ending set in The Republic of Congo
  • A Limited-Time Holiday Event: Winter Kills

Did you ever think we would see this kind of story in the run of The Outlast Trials or is this a sign that things might be running down for now? Will we actually get to make it out too or will it only be fables we hear while in the waiting rooms? How rough do you think this new trial is going to be when compared to the others we have had in the past or will we get a slight break for the holidays? Sneak on down to the comment section to discuss all of that and everything else we have to share with you out there. We will have a whole lot more for The Outlast Trials as it all comes up, so please keep on checking back in for all of that and everything else we have to muster up along the way out there. It should make for a bloody good holiday for sure.
