You Will Be Shown Fear This Summer With Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness

The first real look at Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is out there to show us how this will build into the larger Resident Evil story

There has been a whole lot of time to dive into the most recent Resident Evil game that has dropped on us, that we almost missed the sneak peek of another item in the IP coming out there. No, this is not a new game that Capcom is bringing to us or some kind of DLC for the current release for those that are not deep into the whole RE line up. This is all for a new Netflix animated serialized drama that we are getting to further progress the lore and try to explain a bit more. We finally have a solid trailer for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness to take in and see just how the team is working towards expanding the universe out there. Also, trying to sweep other parts under a rug of sorts so the full story is less convoluted and odd as it had become over the years.

In this new trailer, we have a few of the Resident Evil alums coming back with Leon and Claire doing their normal jobs after the events of RE2 and RE4 presumably. Leon is still working for the president here and it looks like they are still trying to cover things up again. Almost like the previous animated films we have had over the years too. This all does look like it will be in a similar style that we have when it comes to the video game cutscenes and less of a hyper-realistic style for the visuals. The weird thing is that there is less of the normal Resident Evil horror here and a lot more of the mundane cover-up items mixed in. A whole lot more. Almost as if this is going to be a political thing with the background of the horrors that Umbrella has brought to the world. There are a few other shots mixed in with that, but it all feels like it is a secondary thing here. We will know for sure when it starts streaming on July 8th, so we can just hope for the best when that date rolls around.

Did you get the same feeling from this trailer; that we would have more of a political Resident Evil story with some horror elements? Do you think that they might be saving the darker stuff from when it starts streaming and these scenes will be few and far? Do you think this will be the way that they remove out some of the weird and odd elements from the lore thus far and then replace it with something better that does not need video game logic to make sense? Give us those thoughts down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all if you so wish to do so. We will keep the information and details for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness coming at you as we get more. Just stick close to the site to see and hear it all when it does.
