A New Ghostbusters Title Announced & It Ties Into The Film

Another Ghostbusters video game will be making its way to us all and it so happens to tie into the new Ghostbusters out this July

Yep, as you guessed it or read it there is a new Ghostbusters game coming to us all just in time for the new film. Of course since this is all based on our collective love of the 80s it is also coming from Activision as well; although the actual developer has been left nameless at this time. None the less we are getting a new Ghostbusters video game here on July 12^th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Also as it seems it is a tie-in title too so now we can all begin with a bit of the groaning…

Alright, now simmer down as it looks like this Ghostbusters isn’t going to be an exact film tie-in but more or less a continuation. The whole story takes place after the events of the film and we play not as the crew from any of the films but as a whole new team of recruits to handle all of the smaller spooks while the prime team is off tackling the larger ones. At least that is as much of the story that we have been given thus far so we will see how that evolves.

In terms of gameplay here for Ghostbusters it will be a four-player role-playing game and not just a third person shooter from past titles. If the above trailer is any indicator it looks like it is going to play a lot like Gauntlet just placed in the universe set by the film. Except of course we won’t be stuck in just the roles set by the film as it does look like there is some non-gender forced and non-stereotyped characters to choose from unlike the film has.
