A Plague Tale: Innocence
The second video of A Plague Tale: Innocence’s web series is here and it takes us behind the choices used to build the lands of A Plague Tale
I hope you are ready to see more for A Plague Tale: Innocence as we have the next video in the web series here to take in for the game. This would be the behind the scenes style videos showing off why Asobo Studio made the choices that they did in creating the game here. It has been one on my watch list for a while given the setting and gameplay style and now we have more on the era that A Plague Tale is set. That would be the Dark or Middle ages depending on who is talking about it. They are close enough and now we get to see this team’s different take on it to see if it is better fitting for not just the game but the historical time as well. Not that this is supposed to be a completely historically accurate game in the first case.
What we do get to see here is how the architecture is a bit different than we normally see in video games. As the video states, A Plague Tale will be using more of the French style of the times and the layouts of winding roads for the characters to run around. They will also be focusing on the unsanitary and dirty aspects of the time that led to the Black Plague that overtook the world. Something we should have been expecting in a game called A Plague Tale, but worth knowing that they are embracing it all. Asobo could have completely ignored all of that and moved on with something that did not feel right at all is all I am saying. In any instance, this all makes me more excited for May 14th to roll up so we can all experience this game completely.
A Plague Tale: Innocence — Dark Ages
A Plague Tale: Innocence, the new own-IP title from Asobo Studio, will release May 14 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Asobo Studio invites you once more to discover the creative process behind their upcoming game, A Plague Tale: Innocence. With this web series, Focus Home Interactive highlights the work of this incredible French team — the second episode, Dark Ages, is available now.
After a first episode which mainly focused on the young sibling protagonists Amicia and Hugo, Episode 2: Dark Ages takes us to the Middle Ages. Discover the process that went into forging a grounded, realistic world, set in one of the darkest hours of human history.
The creative team at Asobo explains their inspiration for the world they built — from visiting real French villages whose layouts, streets and buildings find their roots in medieval times, to taking cues from famous painters to craft the game’s naturalistic lighting. The carefully crafted world serves to enrich the story and the characters, and contributes to creating this moving, emotional experience.
Do you like the style of A Plague Tale that we have here or is the deviation off from what you already know in games? Do you want to see more historically accurate settings in your games or do you want to see more engaging levels instead? How deep do you think all of this will go in the game or will it get lost in the general puzzles we will be solving here? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. There will be more for A Plague Tale: Innocence and we will have it all here. All you need to do is keep checking back in so you can stay on top of all of it.
