Alan Wake 2
The Writer’s Room is open for Alan Wake 2 as we see how Alan Wake will be able to rewrite the world around him
It is getting closer to the time we will be exploring the depths of the Dark Place in Alan Wake 2, which means it is also time for us to take a look at the Writer’s Room in the game. If anything, it gives us a little more gameplay from Remedy Entertainment as we wait for October 27th to come for our PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Now, though, we get to see Alan Wake in action and rewriting part of the world around him in this new space that has been created to keep him going between games. Maybe even twist his sense of being with the power of a god as it seems like reality can bend to his whims and creativity. Unless this is another horrible joke played on Alan by the Dark Place in general.
To be a little clearer on what The Writer’s Room is in Alan Wake 2, we can see it in action a little below. This is a location in the game that we can access with but a button press and will give us the tools to alter the world around us. This looks to be done via the Plot Board where Alan will be able to sort through various things out there and swap things around. The gameplay we have is a little dark, so it is hard to see just how it all shifts here, but it does sound like an interesting tool to have in Alan Wake 2. More so, since we are going to be locked in the Dark Place with the character for a bit it would seem. Have a look and see just what is going on and how this new feature might be able to play out in the long run of the game.
Alan Wake 2 — The Writer’s Room
The Writer’s Room is in the depths of the Dark Place, where Alan Wake writes to escape the nightmare dimension he’s been trapped in. The Writer’s Room can be accessed with a single button press at almost any point of the game.
A key part of the Writer’s Room is the Plot Board, which Alan can use to rewrite the reality around him, altering the environment to find his way through the Dark Place. See it in action!
In Alan Wake 2, play as the writer, Alan Wake, and the FBI agent, Saga Anderson. Explore two beautiful and terrifying realities, and solve a deadly mystery before it’s too late.
Alan Wake 2 launches on October 27th.
This is going to be an interesting change for Alan Wake 2 and I am curious to see how it will not be misused in the game. Being able to alter or change the world around us at a button press feels almost like a god power in the game. Since it was established this is the case in the first Alan Wake title, that his writing can change things, it feels like a daunting task to allow the players to do it and not ruin the full story they have crafted. I do have faith in Remedy for this given their other titles. I just cannot seem to wrap my head around how giving the players this kind of freedom would not lead to some breaking things horribly. Unless this is all an illusion and we are not able to fully do what we want in the game whenever we want. There are some limits that can already be seen here anyway.
Are you excited to see how The Writer’s Room will alter the gameplay for Alan Wake 2 or will it be something others will abuse? Will it only give us the illusion of being able to alter everything whenever we want or could we accidentally end the game with a few plot changes? How long will this be a feature in the game or will it only be for certain segments of it all in the runtime? Head to the comment section and alter the world by discussing everything down there. We are going to keep the news for Alan Wake 2 flowing out there, so please keep on checking back for those updates and many others we have in the works here.
