Aliens: Fireteam
The announcement for Aliens: Fireteam is here and looks to bring us back into the action of the Alien franchise yet again
Talk about an announcement I did not see coming, as we now have the official announcement here for Aliens: Fireteam that is heading to us this Summer. Do not think that this is going to be something that is going to keep the survival horror aspect of the game we saw in the last title. It looks like Cold Iron Studios is taking us back into the action of it all as we have to face off with the titular Alien out there from the film franchise. All in the role of a Colonial Marine in a third-person shooter on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Thankfully, it is already looking to be better than the last time we had a title in this vein of it all years ago. We will not talk about that one for now, though.
In Aliens: Fireteam, we will be facing off against 20+ enemy types from the various forms of the xenomorph and the androids we have seen be terrible in the past. All while using five different character classes in the mix of the various weapons we will have at our disposal too. Thankfully, we will be able to play co-op with a squad of three or by ourselves with some AI help in the mix. As long as it is done correctly and not using what we saw in the past Alien games, this could be a great way to experience the franchise again. The gameplay here shows some promise but this is still some Alpha footage and there is only so much time to perfect it all for the masses out there.
Aliens: Fireteam — Announce
Cold Iron Studios, the San Jose-based game studio comprised of veteran action and shooter developers, in collaboration with 20th Century Games, today revealed Aliens: Fireteam, a new cooperative third-person survival shooter set within the Alien universe. Aliens: Fireteam is scheduled for worldwide release in Summer 2021 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam.
Set 23 years after the original Alien trilogy, Aliens: Fireteam drops players into the role of a Colonial Marine aboard the USS Endeavor, recently tasked with answering a distress call from the outer colonies. Deploy to overrun facilities, abandoned ruins, and strange alien landscapes as you battle terrifying enemies across four campaigns with two friends or AI teammates. Stunning visuals, realistic environments, powerful weapons, futuristic equipment, and an eerie soundscape heighten new Alien storylines across a series of replayable missions that evoke and expand upon the blockbuster films.
Facing over 20 intelligent enemy types — from Xenomorphs to Weyland-Yutani Synthetics — players must utilize cover tactics and master team strategy to eradicate extraterrestrial threats that swarm through doors and vents, scramble across walls and ceilings, and strike from darkness with uncanny ferocity. Five character classes, an expansive arsenal of customizable weapons and mods, character progression, and innovative advancement systems help even the odds in this heart-pounding shooter and place Aliens: Fireteam in another dimension of co-op survival shooters. The unique Challenge Card system also lets players mutate each mission, offering a new experience with every playthrough.
Are you looking to get back into the Alien franchise again in the form of the high-action or does it work better with the horror of it all? Do you think it is going to work well with the three-player co-op or is that a number that is a little off for it all? Will this just be us fighting swarms and waves in the four various campaigns or will there be something deeper to it all to further the overall story? Give us all of that feedback down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. If there is more for Aliens: Fireteam, it will be on the site for you all. Be sure to keep an eye on the site for all of that and much more out there.
