Alone In The Dark
A new look at the upcoming Alone In The Dark takes us in to know just what we need to before the launch of Alone In The Dark
If you have been looking to get a fast recap on why you need to give Alone In The Dark another play when it drops on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 20th, then you have come to the right place. If not, then you have come to the right place to see what Pieces Interactive thinks will be the bigger selling points to get us all back into this new version of the game. As long as you have the sixty seconds to spend on getting those reasons why pumped into your brain. That is all it seems like it will take to let you know if you need to head on back to the Derecto Manor in Alone In The Dark very soon. Let us all see…
If you have less time than a minute to watch the recap for Alone In The Dark, it boils down to us getting a fully new take on the past game, written by a team that knows the cosmic horror genre well, and then having Jodie Comer and David Harbour as the leads for the game. Two of those are solid reasons for any video game out there but the last one feels more like it is marketing than it is to sell us all on the game further. That is not to say that the two actors are not going to give it their all and offer amazing performances, but should not be a focus for half of the reasons we need to play Alone In The Dark. Unless this is all to obfuscate the story and other grim things we should not be ready for so the survival horror and puzzles hit us all a little harder out there in the mix. Have a look and see what I am talking about here.
Alone In The Dark — Everything You Need To Know
More than a mere battle for survival, this journey will challenge your core beliefs. But what exactly is Alone In The Dark?
Join Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) and David Harbour (Stranger Things) in this cosmic horror tale set against a Southern Gothic backdrop. Experience the breakdown of reality through their characters’ eyes as you face countless challenges, from searching puzzles to scarce ammo, to uncover the truth at the heart of Derceto Manor.
Alone In The Dark is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 20th!
I am still excited for Alone In The Dark even if this all feels like a push for the celebrity rather than any real reason to play the game. I say this due to the fact that the short demo that was offered out there before was a fun little experience. An experience that only had the celebrities show up near the end of it all. That proved to me that we have a great game in the works and the added benefit of the faces and voices many out there love. I do not know why they are not leaning into that side of it all for Alone In The Dark, as it feels like even if there were unknowns doing the voices and characters, it would shine just as bright. These familiar ones are only the icing on the cake. This all just makes it feel as if they might not be as confident in the base game to me, and that is a little off-putting.
Are you still ready for Alone In The Dark to hit you or did you need this little recap to sell you on the game again? Do you think that they are leaning on the main characters too much for the marketing or is that just how the world works now? Did you play the demo and have a great time even without these faces or character models? Take those thoughts and turn them into discussion in the comment section just below. There is a lot more to come for Alone In The Dark before it launches, and we will have it all here for you. Please come back and see just what we have for you and everything else that is in the works on the site.
