Another Assassin’s Creed Leak Has Just Seeped Out There

Assassin’s Creed

Another Assassin’s Creed leak has just popped up and it is another off-screen shot that points the next Assassin’s Creed to an Egyptian setting

Whatever leak is going on over there for the next Assassin’s Creed title looks to be having one Hells of a time getting plugged up. Here we go with yet another bit of leaked information that Ubisoft has yet to confirm or deny and this time we have another image to add into the mix. An image that popped up over on Reddit is what is making the splash here today and it supposedly shows us more of the ins and outs for the next Assassin’s Creed with a possible reveal/tease coming here just before E3. I am a bit doubtful on that and as of this comes from those mysterious “Sources” no one wants to name, get your bit of salt ready to take.

As you’ll be able to see here, we have a look at what could be assumed as the main character for the next Assassin’s Creed title and he is on a boat. A more primitive looking boat than we’ve seen the franchise’s past but none the less an assassin on a boat with a shield and quiver of arrows. Not too exciting as it is an off-screen shot so we can’t truly tell if this Assassin’s Creed title would look better than before, but there are a few little things we can get excited for. The first being that boats will be a larger piece in the game like other titles; at least if this is truly from the game in question here.

One bit that does seem to show some credence to this being part of the next Assassin’s Creed game is that in the upper left you can see what looks to be the current mission the player is taking on. “Assassinate The Crocodile” is the name and “Following Shadya to Khenut’s villa” is the “game.” Sounds like it fits perfectly fin into the Assassin’s Creed world and also points the title to the Egyptian setting that has been the rumor for a while now. At least if this Khenut is the same one in the real world who was a Queen of Egypt back in the Fifth Dynasty. It does link up a bit but still all of this is still in the rumor pile for now.

Assassin’s Creed — Leaked Image

The image was posted to Reddit by user “shoutouttoashraf” (a now-deleted username that looks a lot like a reference to Ashraf Ismail, a Ubisoft staffer who worked on Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag and is currently down as working on an unannounced project at Ubisoft Montreal). It depicts a player character on a boat who wields a bow and arrow and wears a shield on their back.

The image also reveals the “Assassinate the Crocodile” mission, and includes the following text: “Follow Shadya to Khenut’s villa.” Khenut was a Queen of Egypt and the wife of King Unas who lived during the time of the Fifth dynasty of Egypt.

As I mentioned, Ubisoft has yet to say anything one way or another on all of these Assassin’s Creed rumors out there, so take that as you will. It could mean that they are trying to hold back all of the details until a time that they are ready to show the world or that they don’t want to make some developer or gamer “famous” by declaring that all of these leaks are true. We only have a little over a month to wait now until E3 and if we don’t get even a tease for the next Assassin’s Creed before then, I am sure that a full reveal will be there on the show floor or in their media briefing. We’ll know for sure very soon.

What is your take on all of these leaks for the next Assassin’s Creed title? Do you think that these are all true and someone is seeking out internet fame or are they honest slips that the internet doesn’t forget? Do you think that these will all be true in some form and we will get to see an amazing prequel to the franchise set up at E3 for a release later this year? Let us know down in the comments and then discuss. For more on Assassin’s Creed in any of its forms though, be sure to stay right here on the site. We’ll keep all of the updates flowing out there as we get them.
