Anthem
Two new concepts for Anthem have been shown off in terms of story choices in the world of Anthem as you play out the designed story
New gameplay for Anthem is here and this new bit shows off the two new elements of the game that BioWare is working hard on to expand the game further than a space-age shooter. In their true manner, it looks like we are going to be able to craft our own story in the game now and expand out their world. This is at least as it sounds here even though it more or less equates to Anthem having a branching narrative with our choices have consequences along the way. Almost like all of the other titles they have placed on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC with the help of EA. I am not going to gripe on it, but this is how it all sounds to me here.
Granted, Anthem will have a shared and dynamic world for us all to play in yet somehow we will be able to tell our own stories in it. I have a feeling this will still boil down to “the host” having their own experience while others aid along. We could be surprised and see they have set up a world where we can have our own story that will affect those we are connected to, but that would be such a huge undertaking I do not think Anthem would make the February 22nd release date. I will go with this way of thinking and hopefully be surprised when the game launches. That is unless we get some solid gameplay to look at that shows the concept I see that is trying to be crafted here.
Anthem — Our World, My Story
At the heart of Anthem is the concept of Our World, My Story — the distinctive combination of a shared, dynamic world and a personal story. Discover how these two elements help create a connected world that remains unique to every player.
What are your thoughts on this aspect of Anthem as it is described here? Do you think that it will truly all be connected or will we just be joining in the unique stories of others while running our own? How deep do you think the branches will go in the game here and do you think it will put the other BioWare titles to shame? Let us all know down in the comments what you are thinking and then feel free to discuss. For more on Anthem, keep coming back here to see and hear all that it has in store.
