Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Kicks Some More Gameplay Into Your Faces

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

New gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is here and it gives the rest of us a taste of what was on the floor at E3 for this Assassin’s Creed title

There is no denying that we had a good showing of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey out at E3 even though it was one of the worst kept secrets of the pre-show. It always seems the case for this franchise as of late and Ubisoft either needs to embrace it or figure out a way to keep that all hidden before large shows like this. That is not why we are here though, as while we had some good gameplay and demos to experience for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on the floor, not everyone out there had a chance to see or experience them. That is why we have to be thankful for the internet as it leads to more of the footage for these games to come out for those who missed out before.

Here we have a sloppy sixteen extra minutes of gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to take in. It obviously has the stealth and combat features we all knew would come. It also looks like a lot of it is based on the newer design that Origins took with a new “Spartan Kick” for dispatching enemies. I am sure that will get played out rather quickly in the game. The video also seems to feature more of the naval combat that we have all come to love in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Although it does look like it is stripped down to fit the setting as we only get the option to ram or fire off an arrow volley here. It could also just be where we are in the game and the other options have yet to be unlocked. You cannot tell me that Greek Fire will not be an option in a game set in the ancient Greek era.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey — 16 Minutes of Gameplay

On an interesting note, it does look like the usual synchronization gameplay is here in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey including the “Leap Of Faith” at the end. I say it is interesting as it slightly breaks the franchise’s lore if the timing is still the same as it has been explained. That is, it was first performed by Bayek and Aya in Origins, in the overall story, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey looks to be set before that in terms of timing. At least as it has been pointed out on many different online forums and such. It could just be how the video was edited here or that Ubisoft wanted to keep the gameplay in and forego the set lore. I will bet on that more than anything else, but it is an interesting tidbit for those paying attention.

What say you on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey though? Are you glad that it looks like the same gameplay for Origins will be coming back or did you hope that there would be another large advancement in the franchise? Do you think that the naval combat has been stripped down for the setting or is it just the placement of the video captured in terms of game progression? Let us all know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. For more Assassin’s Creed Odyssey gameplay and updates, be sure to stay locked into the site here.
