Basim: The Master Assassin Is On Display For Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

A new behind-the-scenes for Assassin’s Creed Mirage is here to give us some insight into the Assassin we are going to embody

There is still a lot of time between now and October 12th to learn about our upcoming protagonist in Assassin’s Creed Mirage and here we go with a bit more for the character. A new behind-the-scenes video from Ubisoft has fallen into our laps out there and it gives us more Basim than we have had to date. At least as of this posting. We have had Basim in other Assassin’s Creed titles already, but now we get to see just how he became the master at the craft over the years. Unless you want to hold out until the game hits the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Then you might want to creep back into your shadows and hide away longer.

Those that can remember back, Basim first showed up in an older form in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as a mentor figure of sorts. The new game here is letting us see just how Basim was able to progress between those two periods and locations of the world. A nice little crossover that will be good for fans of the IP, but mostly lost on those that did not dig too deep into all of the Assassin’s Creed lore out there. I know I completely forgot or missed this fact on my playthrough of the other game out there. Not a massive thing, but something worth noting in this video as we dive into the character a bit more. We are about to see it go somewhat back to its roots again in setting and era, so that is the bigger note.

There is also a look at how Basim was given the call to become the assassin we will end up seeing. As it turns out, Basim is plagued by various visions that guide him along a path to becoming one of the Hidden Ones. This would be that first order of the creed that some might have forgotten about or might be misremembering them as the antagonists that became the Templars. I know I mixed that all up in my head, but there are so many Assassin’s Creed titles with convoluted story, so that feels like it might be the case for many out there. This is why I always do enjoy sharing these behind-the-scenes videos all so we can make sure we are on the proper page of it all as we dive into the full game out there.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage — Basim: The Master Assassin [BTS]

From story to gameplay, learn more about the evolution of Basim from novice to Master Assassin in this new look behind the development of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Watch the 2nd episode of this look behind the scenes! And stay tuned for our final episode covering the reconstruction of 9th-century Baghdad.

It is a little odd to me that we are seeing some of the Hidden Ones portrayed more like demons in Assassin’s Creed Mirage here. This could all be the style used to draw Basim into the creed a bit more or link to the other supernatural and beliefs out there in the world too. Not all monstrous-looking creatures are the evil things they are believed to be. This could just be a look at how Basim envisions the true righteous might of the brotherhood out there, which would be a fun twist indeed. I am sure we will get most of those answers when Assassin’s Creed Mirage does finally launch out there. Now we just need to wait a little bit longer for all of it to finally come home.

Did you learn more about Basin here in the Assassin’s Creed titles or did you need that reminder that the character already existed before now? Do you think these “demons” could be of a good nature or will they be what Basim is out to fight against? Should we get a full recap of the IP up to now before this game launches or would that be a little much for any one person to take in? Head down into the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have going on for the game. We should have more for Assassin’s Creed Mirage in the near future, so please keep checking back in for all of those updates and many, many more.
