A new demo for Unholy is out there and we have a final date for when the PC will see Unholy launch out there
The twisted world of Unholy is getting just another step closer to us all with a release date finally set down for the PC version of the game. HOOK is still not ready to share when the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version will be out there, but I am sure that Duality Games is still hard at work on all of it. Thankfully, out of the Steam Next Fest, we have a date to look at for Unholy along with a bit more. Get ready to enter this new and twisted world on July 20th when it hits the PC. Just under a month from now and during a time when most of us will want to stay inside and play our games more anyway.
On top of this announcement for Unholy‘s release, we also have one more bit of gameplay that shows us just how dark and twisted the world is going to be out there for the game. There was already a solid feeling from it all base on just the name and bits of gameplay we have had before now. Here, though, we get to see the various masks we will get to don in the game to keep us safe and some of the other horrors we will face while wandering through Unholy. We need to find that missing son out there and none of this is going to keep us from completing that goal. Unless things help us end with all of our living a little too soon. Have a look.
Unholy — Release Date
HOOK, the indie label of global video game publisher Digital Bros, and Polish developer Duality Games are thrilled to announce that Unholy, the new first-person psychological horror experience, will launch on 20th July for PC. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will follow later.
Horror fans have the opportunity to get hands-on with Unholy as a playable demo is now live on Steam. The Unholy demo will also be promoted in the upcoming Steam Next Fest from 19-26 June, opening up the horrors facing the protagonist Dorothea as she traverses two parallel worlds in her search to uncover the truth surrounding the disappearance of her son.
Unholy follows the disappearance of a young child from a run-down, unwelcoming post-soviet town. Using exploration, puzzle solving, and intriguing combat mechanics, players will traverse between reality and a twisted Unholy world to unveil the terrifying truth.
Features of Unholy:
- Two parallel worlds to explore. The grey and cold reality of a brutalist post-soviet Eastern European town and the creepy and twisted world of Unholy, a grotesque society ruled by a relentless priest caste.
- An intense psychological horror experience driven by a deep, dark narrative storyline played out with captivating visuals based on the works of reputed dark artist Tomasz Strzałkowski (Duality Games Art director and founder).
- A unique gameplay blend that combines meticulous exploration, intriguing puzzle solving, infiltration, and stealth with intriguing shooting dynamics.
- An intriguing combat system. Use four different emotions: anger, shock, sadness, and desire to interact with the environment (destroy obstacles, trigger mechanisms, overload circuits, illuminate your way) or to confuse, lure or damage your opponents.
- Masks! Everybody in the unholy world hides behind a mask and it can be the difference between life or death. Build your own mask to get new skills and improve your abilities or wear other masks to infiltrate, confuse your enemies, and impersonate your opponents.
Unholy will be published for PC on 20th July with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions following later.
If you are excited for Unholy based on what you just got to see there, hold on as there is more. You can head out and download a demo of the game on Steam as of right now and until June 26th. Then you will get to see a deep er look at the game and get to experience what it has to offer up to us all too. Even if it is a short slice and could potentially spoil a few things for us when Unholy fully launches. That is a risk we are always going to have to take with these games. We will be doing it for you if you just want to watch a video of the demo later. So, there is that option if you want to take it too.
