During a recent livestream, the first hour of Call Of Cthulhu was shown off to the world to helps get a deeper feel for Call Of Cthulhu
Get ready to kind of spoil the first hour of Call Of Cthulhu as we have pretty much that to look at here. It is all in the a current beta form and according to those over at Cyanide Studios and Focus Home Interactive, not exactly what we will have in the final game. There is still a lot of time before Call Of Cthulhu hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC if you want to look at just over a month as a lot of time. October 30th is still the launch date for it all so I am not sure how much more they can change between now and then, but that is assuming the following demo is taken from a build that is as recent as to what will be pressed to discs. I am going to guess that will be more of the case here instead of how the developers make it sound in the following video.
I will say it again for those who do not want to spoil much of their Call Of Cthulhu experience, this is the first hour or so of the game we have here to see. Given that there are different choices and actions we can take in the game, it may not be exactly what we will experience on launch day, but it could be close. Spoilers ahead is all I am saying. Although we do get to learn a few more things that will help Call Of Cthulhu stand out given the release schedule and other titles in the same theme coming. This one is closer to the source than the other inspired ones and also in its own genre when compared to the others. I do not think that there will be much of an issue for those fans out there looking for a good horror game in the wake of FPS and Westerns.
Now that you have been properly warned, here is the first hour of Call Of Cthulhu. It looks like they are able to make it to about chapter three in the story which is well before most of the other gameplay demos we have seen thus far. They also show off how the character advancement system works and that not all skills will be able to be increased in this manner. Some will have to be learned by investigating and searching things out. This will also cause issues with sanity, which will have its own issues along the way. It is something that Call Of Cthulhu is generally good at. We will have to wait and see though…
