Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III Blasts Us All In The Face With The First Gameplay

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III

The first gameplay for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III is here to give us a better idea of how far the Call Of Duty IP is going this time

The day is here and we finally have a solid look at the coming gameplay we will experience in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III. To an extent, it feels, with it feeling more like a showing of what Sledgehammer Games is able to do with the engine and less of how it is going to function when we get it in our hands-on November 10th. Then again, this is a Call Of Duty title, so I do not suspect that things will feel much different in terms of the mechanics of point-and-shoot. It does feel like it is all lightyears ahead when it comes to the visuals of it all. Visuals that will somehow come across on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC the same. To the extent that they can, I would think.

All of the visual stuff aside, it looks as if they tapped all of the developers of the various Call Of Duty titles for this one and for the different other aspects coming to the game. There will be the multiplayer and the Warzone stuff, sure, but it looks like we are getting some Open Combat Missions in the mix too. Also with Treyarch’s coveted Zombies mode back in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III but with a little twist too. The twist being that it is more of an open-world for the mode and less of a locked-in mode. I am not sure how well fans will take that when it kicks off play, but it does lean into the way I always felt I wanted to see the mode go. Even if it should be more of a direct campaign mode instead. But that is me splitting hairs at this point.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III — Gameplay

A dark new chapter begins in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III 🔥

  • 💪 Blockbuster campaign featuring new Open Combat Missions
  • 🗺️ Iconic Multiplayer maps
  • 🧟 The largest Call Of Duty Zombies map ever

Building on the legacy of the Modern Warfare series, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III serves as a direct sequel to last year’s record-breaking Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and is set to deliver another blockbuster experience across Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, as well as deep integration with Call Of Duty: Warzone.

As the next bold step for the Call Of Duty franchise, the new premium title release includes:

  • Developed by Sledgehammer Games, in partnership with Infinity Ward, the action-packed new Campaign experience marks the return of infamous villain Makarov, challenging Task 141 to fight like never before.
  • In addition to the signature, cinematic Call Of Duty Campaign missions, Modern Warfare III introduces Open Combat Missions, a new innovation that empowers player decisions like never before.
  • A massive day-one Multiplayer offering, with all 16 maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 (2009), modernized with new modes, mechanics, and gameplay, including three brand-new Battle Maps and the return of War Mode!
  • Developed by Treyarch, players can team up with other squads to fight hordes of the undead in the first-ever Modern Warfare Zombies experience, featuring a host of secrets to discover in an all-new open-world Zombies set on the largest Call Of Duty Zombies map ever.
  • An all-new innovation for the franchise, players can carry forward a vast amount of content, inventories, and weapon progression from last year’s Modern Warfare II into Modern Warfare III on day one.
  • And much, much more!

The ultimate threat awaits in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III, coming November 10th, 2023, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

What is interesting, is that it looks like the rumors of being able to carry over vast amounts of content from Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II into this one will be an option. For players, it seems like it will be in the way of the progression of gear and weapons that they have been grinding out for the past year there. I have a feeling this means that there will be another grind placed on top of all of this to make sure players are still in Call Of Duty every day as much as possible, but that is speculation right now. It would make sound business sense for that to happen, so do not be surprised when we see that along with a few other things that will make the carry-over pointless or needed even more so. As if we could have a one-and-done title from this IP anymore out there.

How are you feeling about the look of this Call Of Duty here and will it impress just as much on the last-gen systems as it will on the current-gen ones? Would you rather see a full campaign for the Zombies mode or does it going open-world lean into that just a bit more than you think? Are you glad to see that things will flow over from the last title or is this just opening up something for the teams to grind us all more for money in the longer run? Head off into the comment section to talk about all of this and let the world know your thoughts. We are going to have a lot more to share for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III as we get closer to the launch, so please keep on coming back to see and hear about all of that as we are able to update you.
