Divinity: Original Sin II Is Coming To Consoles This August

Divinity: Original Sin II

One of the recent well-received RPGs, Divinity: Original Sin II, will be making the leap to consoles allowing more players to enjoy Divinity: Original Sin II

One of the better received RPGs as of late, Divinity: Original Sin II will finally be making the leap from the PC to PS4 and Xbox One this August. It has been a good year for Larian Studios with the game and it looks like they have finally taken it over to give access to as many players as possible. I am sure that there are other reasons that have been pushed to get Divinity: Original Sin II over to the consoles, but for now, we can go with just that. If you have been a fan of the game already then you already know and now your friends that are console players will have a chance to get to experience it.

In terms of changes for Divinity: Original Sin II for the console version, it looks like the only thing that has been changed has been the HUD and UI to work for the limitations of the consoles. Everything else we have enjoyed already should be making it right over but if it is not, it has not been mentioned yet. This version of Divinity: Original Sin II will also be bringing all of the co-op options from four-player online to two-player split-screen options. Not too many games out there do that, so we can add one more to the limited list of couch co-op for those who are always looking for a game to play with their physical world friends.

Divinity: Original Sin II — Coming Soon

Bandai Namco Entertainment today announce that Divinity: Original Sin II, the award-winning BAFTA nominated role-playing game from Larian Studios, is coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in August 2018. Following the game’s incredible success in 2017 as Metacritic’s highest scoring PC game, Bandai Namco Entertainment in partnership with Larian Studios, will bring Divinity: Original Sin II to console players taking them on an adventure that will enable players to go anywhere and do anything in one of the deepest RPG worlds ever created.

Divinity: Original Sin II gives players the freedom of a sandbox RPG encouraging improvisation and experimentation with rules made to be bent rather than followed. The game takes place in the world of Rivellon where players can go anywhere, talk to anyone (living, dead, or non-human) and fully interact with the game world like no other RPG. The game features six unique origin characters with full-fledged backstories, personalities and questlines:

  • Red Prince — A haughty but heroic lizard noble
  • Sebille — An elven assassin
  • Lohse — A possessed musician
  • Ifan ben-Mezd — A mercenary ex-soldier
  • Beast — A rebel-turned-pirate dwarf
  • Fane — An undead member of the long-forgotten Eternal race

Console players diving into the world of Divinity: Original Sin II for the first time will enjoy a user interface tailored for console play in both four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen co-op modes. Additional content updates and extra features will be announced leading to the game’s launch later this year.

Are you excited to see that Divinity: Original Sin II is finally coming to consoles or do you think it should have stayed on the PC only? Could there be other changes coming to the console version of the game besides the UI? Do you think that this will keep Larian Studios creating more content for the game or will they use this to move on to their next idea? Let us know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If there is more for Divinity: Original Sin II on the consoles, or in general, we will have the information here on the site. Just be sure to keep checking back in.
