DOOM And Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Coming To The Switch

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

It has just been announced that DOOM and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be hitting the Switch but no word on the previous Wolfenstein titles

While not the most surprising move here by Bethesda, it now looks like Nintendo Switch owners can not only look forward to Skyrim making the jump over, but also Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and the most recent DOOM. All so you can take all of these titles on the go with you instead of just enjoying them in your home. At least that was the big push when Wolfenstein II and DOOM were added to the list of the most recent Nintendo Direct stream. Well, on top of the Switch getting some other great games that PS4, Xbox One, and PC owners have been loving for a while or will be loving here soon.

That of course will be the bigger drawback as Skyrim is still slated for the Switch on November 17th, but owners will have to wait until this Holiday season to pick up DOOM and then sometime in 2018 for Wolfenstein II. I know most gamers do not stick to just one system, so this may not be the biggest of issues, but there are that are all behind one system. So if you are on the Switch you are going to have to dodge a whole lot of landmines in terms of spoilers for Wolfenstein II. Good luck with that, but I guess if you are willing to hold off for this version then you are ready for all of that to come.

Nintendo Direct 9.13.2017

During the latest Nintendo Direct, DOOM and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus were also revealed as upcoming titles for the play-anywhere/anytime system. In addition to these huge announcements, we’ve also got some launch windows to look forward to!

Skyrim will hit Switch first on November 17, followed by DOOM during this year’s holiday season, with Wolfenstein II rounding it out in 2018. We will have plenty more details in the coming weeks and months, but for now, take a look at the full Nintendo Direct for more information. If you want to skip to the Bethesda news, it starts at 24:38.

What is also interesting here is that none of the previous Wolfenstein titles have been listed to make the jump yet either. Again, not the biggest of issues unless you have completely thrown in on the Nintendo platforms then Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be your technical first foray into the franchise and you may be missing out on a whole lot of the story and goings on. That is also if you are going to ignore all of the previous bits before these “reboots” to the original PC shooter. Video games and consoles can get complicated like this can’t they?

Does the inclusion of DOOM and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus make you want to make the full jump over the Switch for them or will it be just for those who have missed out already? Do you also question why such a huge delay for a game that is launching on October 27th for all of its other platforms or is this just how it is going to be for the Switch for a while? Does the option to play these high-paced shooters “on the go” really sell you or does it sound like something you would not want to do? Let us know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. I am sure there will be much more on these versions of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and DOOM. We will have it all here as they come, so be sure to keep glued to the site to make sure you see it all.
