Dreadmoor
A new demo for Dreadmoor is on the way to us all to allow for more gamers to give Dreadmoor a bit more of a chance out there
For a game that is all about fishing, it sure feels as if Dreadmoor is fishing for all of our interest leading up to when the full game is going to release on PC. We had a nice little beta for some to play around with after the last big update from Dream Dock, and it looks like we are going to have something more on October 6th for the game. Sadly, that is not the release date for Dreadmoor, but it is a release date for something. That something being a new demo that all gamers can check out to see if the fishing is going to work. Not just in grabbing your attention, but in the horror-filled world that the game is going to be set within. Yes, it is a little weird to have a release date just for a demo, but it is something for an update.
There is not much announced in the way of what we will be able to experience in Dreadmoor when the demo lands, or how long into the game it will be, but we do have a few things to look at. Ideally, this will allow us to take on the various fishing and salvage mechanics for the game, along with the selling of everything that we are able to pick up along the way. Along with that, we will be able to set sail around the gloomy and horror-filled waters in the game so we can experience a bit of the environment that Dreadmoor will be giving us. If the following video for the game is any indication, that might also mean that we are going to get to see some of the other characters and entities in the world. I am assuming that is what the giant building-like creature is in the following video, but that could also be the pinnacle of where we get to go with all of those upgrades to our ship. We will have to wait and see.
Dreadmoor — Demo Release Date
Dreadmoor, the dark first-person fishing adventure set in a post-apocalyptic world from developer Dream Dock and publisher Digital Vortex Entertainment, cruises into the Submerged Lands with the demo launch on PC for Steam on Tuesday, Oct. 6, as announced in the Secret Sauce Showcase.
Take the helm of a creaky old boat and fish to survive in the Submerged Lands – a cursed region twisted in the aftermath of a cataclysmic catastrophe. Scout the best spots to reel in mutated monstrosities, ranging from sharp-toothed small fry to predatory fish that put up a desperate fight. Fill the ship’s hold, then float back to the bait shop looming over the water atop a set of gigantic crab legs.
Sell fish to buy new gear, or dissect them for their rare and valuable organs, which can be used to fashion complex and irresistible lures for drawing in craftier prey lurking in the deepest recesses of the bayou. Salvage wreckage and scrap to upgrade the boat, then fuel up for the journey ahead.
Dreadmoor’s PC demo launches on Tuesday, Oct. 6, on Steam for PC. The game supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish – Spain, Portuguese – Brazil, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Polish, Russian, and Japanese language text.
Is it weird that we have a release date for Dreadmoor‘s demo and not the final game, or will that start to become the normal going forward? How much of the game are you hoping to experience in the demo, and will it be something massive with all of the hype built around it? Do you think that building creature is our final form in the game, or will it be a boss that we have to defeat at the end of the demo out there? Let us discuss all of that in the comment section down the page here. We will see what else we can get out there for Dreadmoor, so please keep following the website and all of our social channels to see just what is going to come to light down the road. There is so much going on, and you will not want to miss out on it.
