Experience Absolute Confinement With The Announcement Of All Light Is Gone

All Light Is Gone

A new data breach is here, with All Light Is Gone getting an announcement, and we get a little look at the space All Light Is Gone will take up

A new atmospheric horror is on the way to us all with the recent announcement of All Light Is Gone. This is a new title coming from Hellesthaeus for the PC that is aiming to give us one impossible experience that might be bending all of our minds out there. Well, maybe more the minds of those in the game itself, but that’s the short pitch of things for All Light Is Gone. Especially at its core, it looks like a different horror walking simulation title that’s coming, just with some other changes in the mix to ensure it is able to stand on its own. That all said, let’s dig into what’s coming in the game and just what all of this means when the horrors are ready for us to experience in the near future.

Knowing all of that, here’s what is helping to make All Light Is Gone feel like its own thing from all of the other games like it. For starters, this one is using more of the found footage style of grain on the screen to ground it a bit more. Also, to lock us in for a claustrophobic experience to be had. Add in some of the liminal spaces geography to the maps, a House that is constantly using our memories of the past against us, and then using all that we’re seeing in-game against us, and that’s one terrifying experience indeed. Moreover, we’re going to have to keep track of what we’re looking at in All Light Is Gone, as that’ll be just what the unbeatable entities will use to come after us as we try to escape. It sounds like many others, sure, but these little tweaks and the original story coming could make this another massive title for us all to add to our libraries. Have a look and see if it’s going to be one for you.

All Light Is Gone — Announcement

An unauthorized data breach has revealed the first footage of All Light Is Gone, a first-person, found-footage psychological horror game where you descend into a sentient brutalist megastructure known only as “The House.”

Developed by Hellesthaeus (the creator behind the acclaimed narrative title Back Then), All Light Is Gone is not a game about survival or pure atmosphere; instead, it contains an incredibly deep narrative spanning decades that will make you question everything you know. The House does not just trap its occupants; it feeds on their memories, reshaping its intricate labyrinth layout to mirror the inner thoughts of those who dare to explore it.

Core Data Logs (Key Features):

  • Witness/Authentic/Found Footage: Experience absolute confinement through a claustrophobic first-person lens. Players navigate the dark via a highly physical movement and interaction system paired with a raw, unsettling VHS audio soundscape defined by tape distortion and low-frequency hums.
  • Walk Through/Dead/Geometry: Witness the sentient nature of the House firsthand. Liminal spaces actively warp into gravity-defying impossible angles, staircases loop infinitely into themselves, and familiar domestic layouts morph into sterile, windowless voids based on human memory deterioration.
  • A/Complex/Decades-Spanning Narrative: Unravel a deeply interconnected, non-linear lore web. Piece together a redacted history spanning from an alternate post-WWII world order and the psychological trauma of the Vietnam War to the paranoid amnestics purges of the corporate EIDOLON Group.
  • Cognitive/Meta/Horror: The House responds directly to being observed, spreading its influence through your comprehension. Players must navigate an oppressive, exploration-driven atmosphere, manage their visibility, and evade glitching entities that cannot be fought, surviving purely on wit and perseverance.

Are you getting interested to see just where All Light Is Gone is going to go? Does it look and feel too much like other liminal space video games out there already? How will the entity truly use what we’re looking at to mess with us? How will the trauma of the protagonist play a larger role in the story of it all/ Let’s talk about all of that and much more in the comment section of the page. We’ll see what comes of All Light Is Gone in the coming months, so make sure you’re on the site and following all of our socials to see for yourself too. I’m not always sold on these kinds of games, but I’m down to give this little horror experience a chance. As long as it lives up to all of the hype that we are being told in the video and all of the other things released so far.
