Far Cry New Dawn
A new expansion for the Far Cry franchise was announced and Far Cry New Dawn will take us back to Hope County for some post-apocalypse fun
I guess gamers could not get enough of Hope County when they dove into it recently so now we have Far Cry New Dawn coming at us to give us more fun and to see where that story progresses to. This would be a full expansion to the story of Far Cry 5 that Ubisoft has coming for us on February 15th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It was recently announced during The Game Awards as a bit of a surprise to many out there. More so in the fact that it will be its own stand-alone expansion so you do not need to own the original game it is based on to play and enjoy this one. At least if you do not care about story and just want another post-apocalypse title to run and gun in.
Yes, the events of Far Cry New Dawn will take place after the events of the most recent title. Seventeen years after those events where Hope County, and presumably the world, have bomb themselves into the same Mad Max kind of worlds that seem all the rage as of late. We will need to do what we always do in these games though as we will have a new enemy to face while surviving the usual things in a nuclear bombed out land. It seems that seventeen years would be a bit too short to wait to head back out there, but how else would they be able to link in Far Cry 5‘s villain again. Especially since we will have to seek him out for some reason to help save us from the new Twin enemies.
Far Cry New Dawn — Gameplay
Seventeen years after a global nuclear catastrophe, civilization re-emerges from the chaos to find a world dramatically changed. In a post-apocalyptic Hope County, Montana, the remaining populace has gathered into different groups, each with their own rules for survival.
In this new world order, the vicious Highwaymen, led by twin sisters Mickey and Lou, travel from place to place bleeding people dry of all available resources. As the Survivors try to defend their lands against the Highwaymen’s relentless onslaught, it’s up to you to come to their aid and lead the fight.
In the latest installment of the award-winning Far Cry franchise, you are the last line of defense in a transformed, post-apocalyptic Hope County. Help the community of Survivors grow stronger, craft a makeshift arsenal through Turf Wars and cross-country Expeditions, and form unexpected alliances to fight for survival in a dangerous new frontier.
On the bonus side here for Far Cry New Dawn, it will not cost us the full price of a new game as it is currently slated for $39.99 to pick up, but Ubisoft promises enough gameplay to make it feel like a full game. Hopefully, it is not just a reskinned version of the previous game with a few new characters added in. Thankfully the wait will not be too long for that. Also thankfully so we can check out all of those new buddies and how the rest of the characters have changed up to now. If they survived at all. More than just the big bad had to right? Maybe they will all be surprise characters to carry over progress from before.
Were you expecting to see Far Cry New Dawn have an announcement here or did you think it would be until a full and new title in the series until then? DO you think it will feel like a full game in the franchise or will it be just one big DLC that you can play? Do you think there will be a good explanation on how people are out in about after the bombs dropped or will radiation be ignored here? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. For more on Far Cry New Dawn, be sure to keep coming back here. We will keep pumping out all of the news that we can.
