Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse

Another Fatal Frame release is coming right at us with Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse landing this coming March

One more bit of Fatal Frame fun is on the way to us all again, with another blast from the past coming back to us on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. All of these are available on March 9th digitally for all of those platforms. Just in time for Koei Tecmo to get us another bit of fun around the time of the anniversary of it all. Get ready to be able to get back into Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse now. This a nice little follow-up from the Maiden Of Black Water that we had not too long ago. It feels like we need to have a whole new title in the line, but I know I am down to get whatever I can for the IP to experience. Not to mention that it feels like it should have evolved to other platforms out there by now too.

It has been close to fifteen years since Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse dropped on us all and had us roaming a dilapidated sanitarium out there. All while snapping pics of the dead and keeping them all at bay in Southern Japan. Now we can do it with better visuals and maybe some better jumps in the game with those new settings we have. Not to mention going do another dark story in the mix of the Fatal Frame line. Have a look and see what will be coming on the date now and if you are going to want to have all of the DLC costumes to add onto our character too. Even if it does feel like they will take away from the true horror aspect that the game is trying to give us all. That is one of the things I will never get when it comes to horror games, but it could just be the culture shift for myself to the one it is all based around.

Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse — Overview

Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse will be available digitally on March 9, 2023, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam.

Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse is a frightening mystery that takes place on a remote island in southern Japan. A decade after five young girls mysteriously disappeared at an island festival, their memories of the events that transpired during their disappearance remain fuzzy. But when two of the girls are found dead days apart ten years after the initial vanishing, the remaining three teenagers head back to the island — a haunted place possessed by ghosts and spirits — to solve the mystery of their friends’ deaths, while also unlocking the secrets to the memories they left behind.

Alongside the standard version of the game, Koei Tecmo America also revealed a special Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse Digital Deluxe Edition. Available digitally, this unique edition of the game includes the Rogetsu Isle Dinner Party Costume Set, and a digital art book (original soundtrack included).

In addition, anyone who purchases the digital copy of the game by March 22, 2023, will have the ability to download the early purchase bonus: Ruka Exclusive Costume “Marie Rose Outfit” from the Dead Or Alive series. Fans who preorder the game by the release date will also receive a variety of costumes, including the Ruka Limited Edition Costume “Fox Mask” (white/red), the Misaki Limited Edition Costume “Fox Mask” (black/red), the Choshiro Limited Edition Costume “Fox Mask” (black/blue), and the Ruka Misaki, and Choshiro Limited Edition Costume “Spirit Stone Flashlight Hat”. There will even be a special save bonus costume for fans who have already played Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water. Play Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse on the same device that has saved data from Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water saved to receive the Save Data Bonus, the “Camera Obscura Hat”.

Have you been waiting for another Fatal Frame to land out there and will you be all-in on this new launch? Could all of this be building to a whole new title in the line and the team just needs our money and support to get there? Is it odd to you as well to have the happier costumes in a horror game or is it needed to break up some of the true frights out there? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all if you so wish to do so. More for Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse will be on the site as soon as we get it. Please keep checking in for all of that and everything else we have to share along the way.
