Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
One more look at Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is out here now with a look at how big the Final Fantasy VII Remake world is about to become
As was to be expected for the big closer of the start of Summer Game Fest, we have been given a big update for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This would be the next major chapter in the remake that Square Enix has been slowly dripping out to us. The next big part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake that should have Cloud and crew heading out into Gaia and seeing what has happened in the mix of things. All of which is something many of us have been waiting years for now so we can keep this story going on the PS5. Gods, do you remember when it started on the PS4 and has now become the next-gen console exclusive it is? I know I do.
We are all still going to have to wait until 2024 to get to play what we have here for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, so there is that to take note of for now. That out of the way, though, it does look as if we will finally get Yuffie and Red XIII in the mix as playable for various fights and scenes out there. Still no word on any of the other Final Fantasy VII characters making their way in for this next part, but it is possible. The world does look like it is going to be expansive and the story will lead to many different places and events. One of them looks as if we will have a main character’s death at one point too. Not the one you might be thinking of. All on the spread of two physical discs out there…

Yes, it looks like the nostalgia bating is here for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with the use of two game discs to give us all the game. Something that had to be done back when you had to get the full game out to the consumer in one shot and did not have the ability for them to download parts or assets later. Given the digital push as of late with many other games out there, it seems odd to offer Final Fantasy VII Rebirth up in this way. Not to mention the fact that we are most likely going to have to download content and patches for the game anyways. This screams of gimmick to me and not in a great way. All so we can see in the future when they offer up the massive 12-disc option so you can try to play it all in one sitting. I guess we will have to wait and see.
Speaking of waiting and seeing, it looks like we might be getting that cliffhanger of an ending in the game where Sephiroth kills one of the main characters. It was a harsh scene to live through when Final Fantasy VII first came out, and now it looks like it is coming again and with Tifa possibly on the block instead. This could all just be a fake-out to further the nostalgia and uproar that would cause, but given that we have been going down a different timeline in Final Fantasy VII Remake already, this could just be one more twist. All I know is that I hope if she does die, it is not a permanent one and there is a side quest to bring her back in. Then we could get that nostalgia coming full circle instead of being an internet troll.
Are you excited to have multiple discs for Final Fantasy VII Remake here or do you think it will be only a way to sell a few more physical things? Do you think we will see Tifa killed off in this part of the story or will it be a fake out of sorts to hit all of the feelings? Could we see the rest of the characters from the past finally show up in this one or will Cid and Vincent sit out longer than Cait Sith has already? Tell us those thoughts down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. We will have much more for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth soon, so please keep a close eye on the site for all of those updates and many more.
