Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Is Bringing A Whole Lot To The Game

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

The PS5 version of the Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming and it is also bringing us another Final Fantasy VII fan favorite character

With so many out there playing the Final Fantasy VII Remake a few times on the PS4, we have been waiting for the update that will bring us more of the game. Maybe the next whole part of the story and chapter from Square Enix. To that extent even the option to play the game on the PS5 natively to be able to take advantage of all of the tech and capabilities on the machine. This is where Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade enters in as it looks like it is going to offer us all both to an extent on June 10th of this year. Yes, after so much waiting we finally have some new updates and things to look at for the game.

To kick things off here for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, we are going to be getting a whole new episode in the saga to play with. This one featuring Yuffie Kisaragi that many will remember as the ninja Materia hunter that may or may not be there to help the team along. Those who played the original version of Final Fantasy VII will know she is there to help after a bit. It looks like this version will be aligned with us at some point as well given that the episode is going to have her infiltrating the Shinra Corporation facility to snag some of their materia. Thus, making it an Enemy of my Enemy kind of deal. I am a little interested to see if this will be used to explain a few of the events from the previous episode or if it will be taking place after the events of the last one.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade — PS5 Announcement

Revealed as part of the State of Play digital livestream, hosted by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Square Enix today announced that the critically acclaimed and award-winning Final Fantasy VII Remake will come to the PlayStation 5 console on June 10, 2021, as the enhanced and expanded Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade takes advantage of the latest generation hardware and includes a wealth of graphical, gameplay and system enhancements for the PS5:

  • Immerse yourself in the city of Midgar like never before, with improved textures, lighting, and background environments. Players can switch between two game modes:
    • “Graphics Mode” prioritizes 4K high-resolution graphics.
    • “Performance Mode” prioritizes smooth action at 60 frames per second.
  • Capture and share your memorable moments from the game with a fully customizable “Photo Mode”
  • Enjoy immersive battles by using the DualSense wireless controller, with its haptic feedback integration, and enjoy dynamic bike racing with its adaptive triggers.
  • New difficulty settings for ‘Classic Mode’ provide new ways to play.
  • Jump into the action faster with optimized loading times.

The above new episode will be its own standalone purchase for Final Fantasy VII Remake, sadly, and also on the PS5 only too. This seems odd to leave the fans that picked the game up on the PS4 a little bit out there, but it is what Square Enix wants to do. At least they are offering everyone that bought that version the ability to upgrade to the full version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade to be able to replay with the enhanced graphics and features all for free. You will need to be able to access the game natively on the console, IE disc will be needed for the PS4 disc version, but it will bring the game all the way up to date. Then you will be able to add on the extra episode and continue the story just a bit more. Hopefully, this will also lead to us being able to leave Midgard at some point in the story and not just have the characters going back in while leaving the rest of the world in limbo.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade — PS5 Features

As a thank you to those who have purchased Final Fantasy VII Remake for the PlayStation 4 console, Square Enix are providing these players a free PS5 enhancement update that will include all next-gen visual and gameplay enhancements detailed above at no extra cost when playing on a PS5 console.

As well as introducing many exciting new enhancements, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade also includes a brand-new episode featuring Yuffie as the main character. In this new adventure, play as ninja Yuffie Kisaragi as she infiltrates the shadowy Shinra Corporation to steal a powerful materia and restore glory to her homeland. Play alongside new characters and enjoy an expanded gameplay experience featuring multiple new combat and gameplay additions, bringing a new perspective to the Final Fantasy VII Remake story that cannot be missed.

Players, who purchased Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS4 and upgrade to PS5 can purchase the new episode featuring Yuffie as a standalone download from the PlayStation Store. Owners of the disc version of Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS4 will require a PS5 console with disc drive in order to take advantage of this digital upgrade.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be available as a physical and digital Standard Edition, and as a Digital Deluxe Edition from the PlayStation Store. The Digital Deluxe Edition of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade comes with a digital mini soundtrack featuring songs, such as “Descendant of Shinobi,” and a digital artbook that includes concept art and character sheets. Customers who pre-order the Digital Standard Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will receive the pre-order bonus Cacstar weapon for use in the new episode featuring Yuffie.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the PS5 enhancement update, and the standalone downloadable episode featuring Yuffie will be available for the PS5 console worldwide on June 10, 2021.

How do you feel about the need to purchase this new episode and only being able to get it on the PS5 if you have gone through all of the other steps? Do you have a feeling that we are going to be forced to pay for each new character and extra story while never getting the full world we had in the original version of it all? Let us all know down in the comments what you are thinking and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. If there is more for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, we will have it all here. Be sure to keep checking back in for that and much more.
