Alone In The Dark: Illumination
A new trailer for Alone In The Dark: Illumination is out and showing off some new gameplay as the game’s launch looms closer
We first got wind of Alone In The Dark: Illumination a few months back and now we are in the proposed month of its PC and Steam release. Atari and Pure FPS were not messing around with getting this title up and running even though things have been on the quite side since the game was announced back on August 20th and we’ve had one real good look at it to date. I guess that can be on the positive side though as with horror games we need the surprises and shocks to feel fresh. It would just be nice to see how the actually game will play though; at least on a basic mechanic level. That does help to see if Alone In The Dark: Illumination will be worth the risk on our end.
I guess that is where the following trailer comes in now. We have some real gameplay for Alone In The Dark: Illumination now. For all to see and enjoy and help us see if Alone In The Dark: Illumination will be a title worth pre-ordering or if it is something to wait around and catch the reviews for later. You can be the base judge on all of that right now…
Alone In The Dark: Illumination — Pre-Order Trailer
Visually Alone In The Dark: Illumination is a little under-impressive but it does look like it is going to have some killer environments and enemies. Mechanically though it looks to be more on the action-based 3rd person side too. Even if you alter the character’s weapon set to be shooting magical lightning it is all the same point and shoot kind of thing. I am just hoping this was the hype and not the end game kind of feel that Atari is going for. Maybe I remember Alone In The Dark being more suspenseful or terror driven instead of the shoot-em-up demon killing spree here. It’s been some time since I’ve played the franchise so I could be off base.
If Alone In The Dark: Illumination looks like your special cup of tea here though you can learn more about the game at the official website. You can also pre-order the game on Steam right now if you are that excited to have another Alone In The Dark title to play. I’m kind of holding back on Alone In The Dark: Illumination at the moment because it looks to me more like a nostalgic cash grab more than a revitalization to the overall franchise. I could also be a bit off base and kilter as the dark ones do tend to mess with the mind…
