Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales
A whole lot of new gameplay for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is here to show off just what we can generally expect when Thronebreaker finally launches
Next week PC gamers are going to get a chance to dive into Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales with PS4 and Xbox One gamers will need to wait until December 4th to do the same. Right in the mix of all kinds of other console titles, but it is what it is. All that means is that we have another venture into The Witcher universe with CD Projekt RED coming up here and there has been little to see or know about the game thus far. At least in the grander scheme of things as Thronebreaker has felt like a quieter release than many of their other game. I may have missed some memos or something along the way but that is how it has felt leading up to this moment.
I say that as we now have a nice, long gameplay video for Thronebreaker where the community manager takes us through almost forty minutes of gameplay so we can get a look and feel for how it will go. It does look a lot like GWENT when you first look at it, but this is its own beast. Even if the movement through the world looks like what was promised way back when that title was announced. Maybe it all became something too large for them to keep housed in one title and thus Thronebreaker was born. I do not know. What I do know is that you can see just how the game will play out in general down below and thus expand upon the vast universe and story we have been hammering though for some time now. Have a look and then get ready for October 23rd or December 4th to finally get to play this title.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales — 37-minute Gameplay Walkthrough
CD Projekt RED, creators of The Witcher series of games, present a brand new video showcasing gameplay from Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales — a dark RPG adventure set in the world of The Witcher.
Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics. Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath, and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge. Throughout the game, players will explore new and never-before-seen parts of The Witcher world, embark on thought-provoking quests featuring rich, multidimensional characters. All while gathering resources to expand their army and engaging in epic story battles.
What are your thoughts on Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales after seeing all of the above footage of the game? Do you see how close it feels to GWENT without being that game or does it look like original elements from that one have been repurposed here? Will you be aiming to play this on the PC or holding out for the console release? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If there is more to share for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, we will share it here. All you have to do is keep checking back in and wading through the rest of the words here to get at it. I do hope it is not too bogged down for you.
