Get Ready To Enter The Park On Consoles As We Have A Release Date

The Park

The release date for The Park on the PS4 and XB1 has been revealed and now even more gamers will get to experience the horrors The Park has in store

It’s been a bit of time since we heard about The Park. This would be the psychological horror title that Funcom put together last year during October on the PC. It looked dark and twisted and was received by various users in various ways. It was also planned to hit the PS4 and Xbox One at some point but up until now the console version of The Park has been more or less a fleeting thought. Now we have a release date for the game so it looks like we will all be getting a nice short taste of what they had in store.

As of right now The Park is slated to release on May 3rd for both of the consoles. Something that has been a decade in the waiting out of the developer/publisher. Not this game but just bringing anything of theirs to the console as the last time they did was back in 20006; even though Conan Exiles has always been slated for a console release and there was no coyness when discussing The Park to hit the major systems that were not PC based.

The Park — Launch Trailer

“We are thrilled to develop games for consoles again,” says Funcom CEO Rui Casais. “Not only because ‘The Park‘ is a great fit for console gaming, but the process has also given us a lot of experience which we can use for some of our upcoming games, like ‘Conan Exiles‘.”

For those who may have forgotten by now The Park has us take on the role of Lorraine whose son has gone missing. Missing and stated to be in the Atlantic Island Park. We must help and guide her through the dilapidated amusement park and deal with all of the internal and external horrors that plague her in her search. All in a first-person and storytelling manner. No running and gunning here.

Are you glad to see The Park finally getting its release on the consoles? Do you think that an eight month gap is going to be too much or has it worked for other titles that have done the same? Are you ready for another exploration style game after the last few that have hit the market recently? Let us know what you are thinking and feel free to discuss in the comments below. For more on The Park and games just like it be sure to stay right here as we will bring you everything we can.
