The Ghostbusters are getting back into action, again, with the latest title that we have coming from IllFonic. That would be the team that brought us all of the team vs one style of multiplayer titles that use the classic IPs from the 80s. Now we are getting another with the announcement for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Just as you might be assuming at this point, it will be another team-based title but with another twist mixed in. This one will also let us dive into the spirit guide and become the ghost that should be hunted down.
In Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, we will take on the role of a new team member and group up with three others to head back out and catch as many of the specters out there as possible. Then we have the one other player that will be one of the bigger ghosts that look like they will have many more abilities and powers in the mix. It is hard to say given the footage we have here, but it does make sense given how the team has designed games before. We just get to know that we will get to go through all of the classic Ghostbusters settings with the same gear and maybe a few guests mixed right in. Have a look at the announcement and see how it will try to set itself apart from all of the other titles like it out there without the massive IP mixed in.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is coming to a platform near you.
As a Ghostbuster, join with other Ghostbusters to chase and trap ghosts in museums, prisons, hotels, and more, and capture the ghosts before they can fully haunt the areas.
Or, as the Ghost, hide, sneak, surprise, scare, and of course, slime Ghostbusters and civilians until everything has gone completely spooky. Use trickery, deception, and Ectoplasm to gain the upper hand and drive the Ghostbusters out.
Have been hoping to get a new Ghostbusters title out there or do you think we needed a bit of break for now?
