God Of War Has A Release Date & An Epic Story Trailer

God Of War

The release date for God Of War has finally been set and with that comes another epic story trailer for God Of War to excite us all

We finally have it. The release date for God Of War has been set and now we can expect to see this next epic adventure on the PS4 on April 20th. It is close to all of the rumored and “leaked” dates we have seen over the last few months, but now Santa Monica Studio has set it down and we are just outside of the usual March date. That is perfectly fine though as it is much better than the rumor that God Of War was hitting at the end of June that we saw when Amazon and GameStop listed the Stone Mason edition not too long ago. The wait is almost over and the excitement, at least here, is starting to get to a high as we have just under three months to wait.

If the announcement for God Of War‘s release date does not do it for you, then we also have a new story trailer to take in for the game. We are not talking some basic thing that we have seen before that tells us that Kratos is a father and in the Scandinavian wilds now with the Norse world all around him. No, this one actually gives us a better feel for the tone and overall story we are going to experience and it looks much deeper than any in the franchise’s past. Not only that, but we also have a good look at how it will touch on the history of God Of War and how it will influence this sort-of-reboot to the franchise and hopefully the future. Gods, I am gushing over all of this.

In addition to that, we also have a look at the other editions of God Of War if the $150 USD version is not the one for you. We also have a basic Collector’s Edition and Digital Deluxe edition. The Collector’s Edition is slightly cheaper and only missing a few of the physical items as the Stone Mason Edition. The Digital Deluxe, of course, housing only the digital content and version of the game. Surprisingly though, it looks like the Digital Deluxe will also have a physical pin that you will get if that is how you go with the game. There is no word as of this writing how that will be claimed, but it is a thing and you can see that below.

One more thing, it looks like we also have the pre-order bonuses for those out there who choose to do so for God Of War. It looks like none of them are retailer specific and there is no issue if you already shelled out the cash, but we will be getting a set of Shield Skins for the game as well. All cosmetic from the look of things but still a nice little bonus for securing your cope of God Of War before launch. No matter which version you choose to go with even if you go with the basic with none of the bells and whistles and collectibles. Not too shabby.

Was this the date you were expecting to see God Of War land on or does it line up with your assumptions from everything so far? Will you be picking up any of the special editions of the game or will you be going into the new version of the franchise with a bit of caution? Does the idea of a physical item with a digital only purchase seem weird to you or a nice little extra you will have to take steps to get? Let us all know down in the comments and then discuss your excitement as well. We are all over God Of War and will keep any and all new information coming at you. Just keep checking in on the site to see it all.
